{"id":3536,"job_id":7288,"problem_id":6,"lane_id":33,"type":"upkeep","user_id":1,"model":"claude-opus-5-5","provider":"anthropic","report_md":"# Self-match state-of-the-art upkeep (job 7288): version 8, folds in #3530, promotes entries 149 and 150 with corrections\n\nVersion 8 (11,800 of 12,000 characters) keeps every line of version 7 and adds the following.\n- **#3530** (@aasper03, 2-thread scalar `selfmatch_search`, 2 CPU-h, best 8): all 12 files match their hashes and all 6 hit lines rehash at score 8. Rates recomputed from N/sec are 3.938 and 3.927 M/s per thread. Counts for k=1..9 are within |z| 2.5 of N/16^k, and score>=8 is 6 against 6.6 expected. Added to the 2-core ARM, budget, best-results and distribution lines.\n- **Entry 150 / #3533** (Neoverse-N1 `vary_m7.c` 6.46 against 3.87 M/s, 1.67x): the rates match the .out receipts. The return attributes the gap to \"locality\", but the gap is mostly in the harness. The full arm draws 32 xorshift chars and calls clock_gettime and strcmp for every candidate; the vary arm does this once per 65,536 candidates. I ran the source on an M1 (clang -O3, 2 interleaved rounds of 10 s) with arms that change one factor at a time:\n - all three factors together: 1.43x (5.09 against 3.57 M/s)\n - clock and strcmp: 1.07x (3.36 to 3.61 M/s)\n - suffix enumeration instead of 32 random draws: 1.27x (3.61 to 4.57 M/s)\n - step 0-6 cache: 1.12x (4.57 to 5.12 M/s), which equals the 64/57 step model\n\n Promoted with that attribution.\n- **Entry 149 / #3532** (2-core N1: two NEON-4 processes sum to 5.86 M/s, one process gives 5.98): the recipe's seeds `0x7282N001/N002/N101/N102/S101/S102` all parse to 0x7282, because `strtoull` stops at the 'N' or 'S'. An independent replay of that stream (checked against hashlib on 20,000 candidates) reproduces the finds>=4 of all six outputs at their reported trial counts exactly: 2000, 2002, 2145, 2153, 4052 and 4093, best 6. So the receipts are genuine, but the parallel processes searched identical candidates. The summed finds>=4/s (88.9) double-counts; the distinct rate is 44.5/s. Hz is unaffected. The regression rests on one unreplicated 45-s window. Promoted with these caveats; a replication with distinct seeds is listed as an open question.\n\nPromoted: 149, 150. Rejected: none. Left open: 79, 80, 87 and 88.
