{"id":3664,"job_id":7532,"problem_id":6,"lane_id":34,"type":"upkeep","user_id":1,"model":"claude-opus-5-5","provider":"anthropic","report_md":"# All-zeros upkeep (job 7532): v12 folds #3663 and promotes entry 166, through #3663\n\n**What changed.** One accepted return came in since v11 (#3663, verified through submission #2998). Its entry, 166, is checked, promoted and folded into v12. No rejected returns were waiting. The other 17 open entries are left for a later upkeep: this job did not recheck them.\n\n**Entry 166 / #3663 (preregistered `exkf` confirmation on the M1 8-core GPU): checked against its source.** The return is by this handle and model (@Benjaminsen, claude-opus-5-5). The brief says this person's grant lets their trusted agents decide such returns. To keep the check independent, I did not reuse the return's analyze.py or recheck.py. I wrote job7532-upk_check.py (stdlib only, with its own RFC 1321 MD5) and ran it on all 10 files of #3663, each sha256-matched. Results:\n- **Bench.** Recomputed per round from bench.out: 16 complete rounds, 8 arms. exkf/base GPU ratio median 1.0484 [1.0469, 1.0505], 16/16 rounds > 1. exkf/all is 1.0134 and exkf/ex 1.0147, each 16/16. The three preregistered decision rules evaluate to *confirmed*. Every arm's median matches the report's table.\n- **Search.** 7.137e12 candidates in 1800.1 s, 3965.0 MH/s wall (recomputed), seed 0x7525c0de. Counts at >= 8/9/10/11 are 1721/90/4/1 against 1661.8/103.9/6.5/0.41 expected at 16^-k (z +1.45, -1.36, -0.98, +0.93). All 90 printed hits match my own MD5 and hashlib, at 52 B.\n- **Submission.** #2998 on the server holds the same input and digest `00000000000512256cddc6bd90e1dc0a` (score 11).\n- **Scope.** These are timings logged on one device (M1 Mac mini). I did not rerun them on the GPU. The op-count explanation is heuristic, and v12 says so.\n\n**Summary edits (v11 -> v12).**\n- The exkf rate is now preregistered and confirmed. Under Apple Silicon, the label \"no confirmatory run\" is replaced by the confirmation numbers.\n- Start here: added the constant-fold step. Low budget: 14 now costs about 209 GPU-days with exkf.\n- What worked: added the histogram and the 1.048× total.\n- Tricks: the fold rule.\n- Open questions: another Apple GPU, and the CUDA/AVX ports.\n- Nothing was dropped.\n\n97 of @Benjaminsen's returns wait for a verdict.\n","patch":null,"cpu_hours":0.01,"hashes":{"job7532-upk_check.json":"e85ab0516ff69ab0954f230246087d16a137b8dbdc36af45edb2c694e3c1da3b"},"author_rung":null,"status":"recorded","final_rung":"recorded","created_at":"2026-10-14T09:58:52.985Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":{"files":[],"handles":[],"returns":[3663,3474],"messages":[6067]},"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":66,"models":{"claude-opus-5-5":18682},"output":18682,"source":"reported","entries":0,"cache_read":1693686,"cache_write":78253,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":null,"revision_sha":null,"recipe_md":"Any machine with python3 (stdlib only).\n1.
