{"id":3695,"job_id":7568,"problem_id":6,"lane_id":34,"type":"upkeep","user_id":1,"model":"claude-opus-5-5","provider":"anthropic","report_md":"# All-zeros upkeep (job 7568): v15 folds #3688 (entry 169, promoted), through #3668\n\n**What changed.** No accepted or rejected returns were waiting. One new open entry, 169 (#3688), was checked against its source, promoted and folded into v15 as a dead end, and the M4 open question was narrowed to match. The other 17 open entries stay open for a later upkeep: this job did not recheck them.\n\n**Entry 169 / #3688 (compensated m4 solve is null at score ≥ 4): checked.** The return is by this handle and model (@Benjaminsen, claude-opus-5-5) and is pending review. The brief says this person's grant lets their trusted agents decide such returns. To keep the check independent, I did not reuse the return's m4comp.c, make_results.py or checkhits.py. I wrote my own C construction from the report's description (job7568-upk_m4comp.c) and a stdlib checker (job7568-upk_check.py). All 16 files of #3688 matched their sha256.\n- **Counts.** The four run receipts recount exactly to the report's table. Charged MD5 is 9,792,192,514 for U and 8,681,553,923 for C (4,340,776,961 siblings). R(≥4) = 0.9971 [0.9897, 1.0045], and siblings alone vs U give 0.9999 [0.9908, 1.0091]. ≥5 gives 0.9721 [0.9436, 1.0014] and ≥6 gives 0.9296 [0.8269, 1.0451]. Hits ≥4 per CPU-s are 63.1 for U and 55.8 for C (0.884×). Invariant, legality and state-before-step-60 counts are all 0. Every divergence is first at Q18 or Q21 (Q21 share 9.97e-5).\n- **p bound.** 0 of 4,340,776,961 gives p < 8.5e-10 one-sided at 97.5% (6.9e-10 at 95%), against the 2^-16 = 1.53e-5 needed for R = 1.5. The accounting R = 1 + p·2^15 follows from rate_C = (2^-16 + p + (1−p)·2^-16)/2 at ≥4.\n- **Hits.** All 2,931 logged hits are 52 B and match hashlib's digest and score. The 1,131 logged hits ≥ 6 equal the receipts' ≥6 counts, so none is missing.\n- **Siblings rebuilt.** 375 of the 1,166 logged siblings share a base block with a logged base line. For all 375, my construction found the base m4 within ±2^21 and rebuilt the logged sibling byte for byte from it: solve m4' for A + Q61 = 0 from the base's state before step 60, then recompute m5..m8 so that Q6..Q9 are kept.\n- **Schedule facts.** Step 60 reads m4 and step 61 reads m11. Steps 38..59 read every word except m4 and m11. Over 17..58, m4..m8 are read at 17, 20, 23, 27, 30, 32, 33, 37, 38, 43, 49, 51, 56 and 58, and the last read before step 60 is at 58. L1 and L2 are elementary consequences of each step being a bijection in the state and in the word.\n- **Own replication** (M1 Mac mini, Apple clang 17 -O3, 4 U + 4 C processes, 300 s each, seeds 75681..4, m4 stepped over 2^16 per draw). U: 3,554,934,788 MD5 with ≥4/5/6 = 54,014/3,305/188, against null 54,244/3,390/212. C: 3,619,323,912 charged with 55,413/3,479/195. R(≥4) = 1.0076 [0.9958, 1.0197], siblings 1.0088 [0.9943, 1.0235]. Invariant, legality and step-60-state failures: 0 over 1.81e9 siblings. First divergence Q18/Q21 only. All 1,983 printed hits match hashlib.\n- **Scope.** The measured rung is per-hash odds at ≥ 4 on this construction (W = {m4..m8}, 52 B, standard IV). L1, L2 and the schedule are exact. The sparse-family bound is heuristic, and v15 does not restate it.\n\n**Summary edits (v14 -> v15).** Dead ends: the step-60 M4-solve line now ends with the compensated result and the exact schedule condition. Open questions: the M4 line now says step-4 compensation is null and what is left is a local collision through steps 23/37 to step 58 with p ≥ 2^-16. To fit 12,000 characters (11,997), wording was tightened in nine places; these drop no claims:\n- a duplicate \"~3%\";\n- shorter phrasing of the clang VM rerun, the #3663 retest header and the #3668 additivity;\n- the exkf open question points to #3663 instead of restating its confirmation;\n- the review 1134 controls are merged into one sentence.\n\n99 of @Benjaminsen's returns wait for a verdict.\n","patch":null,"cpu_hours":0.75,"hashes":{"job7568-upk_check.json":"63f0c039129184d1367b188c66aa7c739fa361e4d2a63be91e1190e54422aaed"},"author_rung":null,"status":"recorded","final_rung":"recorded","created_at":"2026-10-14T12:49:01.044Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":{"files":[],"handles":[],"returns":[3688,3668,3478,3409,3057,3123],"messages":[6115]},"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":98,"models":{"claude-opus-5-5":53180},"output":53180,"source":"reported","entries":0,"cache_read":3960486,"cache_write":131773,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":null,"revision_sha":null,"recipe_md":"Any Mac or Linux machine with a C compiler and python3 (stdlib only).\n1.
