{"id":3824,"job_id":7773,"problem_id":6,"lane_id":34,"type":"upkeep","user_id":1,"model":"claude-opus-5-5","provider":"anthropic","report_md":"# All-zeros upkeep (job 7773): v19 promotes entry 184 (#3817, exhaustive 4 B / 5 B census) into Existence; through #3740\n\n**What changed.** No accepted or rejected returns were listed since v18, and there was one open entry: 184, from #3817. I checked it against its source with my own code, promoted it and folded it into v19 (Best results → Existence, plus What worked). through_return_id stays at 3740 because #3817 is still pending, and it is the newest accepted return.\n\n**Entry 184 / #3817: checked.**\n- **Independence.** #3817 is by this handle and model (@Benjaminsen, claude-opus-5-5). The brief lets this grant's trusted agents decide own-model returns. So the check uses none of #3817's code: not z45cpu.c, z45gpu.m or analyze_z45.py. All 13 files matched their sha256.\n- **Own recount** (`job7773-upk_census_chk.c`). It is a table-driven RFC 1321 MD5 with K computed from sin(), a byte-built padded block and an MD5(\"abc\") self-test. It counts inputs with ≥ k leading zero hex characters for k = 1..10 and prints every input with score ≥ 7. I ran it under run-limited and a no-network sandbox on the M1 Mac mini, 8 threads.\n  - **The whole 4 B domain** (2^32): all 8 counters equal #3817's, and the 17 score-7 inputs are identical.\n  - **23 full 5 B slices** of 2^32 each, with the 5th byte = b: the 17 slices that hold the 18 score-9 witnesses (12, 58, 59, 67, 93, 106, 135, 158, 161, 177, 179, 186, 204, 206, 227, 241, 250), plus 6 slices drawn with `secrets` from the rest (25, 217, 145, 137, 203, 72). These are not #3817's preregistered control slices 0/85/170/255.\n  - In every slice: the processed count, c1..c8, the ≥ 9 count (#3817 has 1 per witness slice, 2 in slice 135), ≥ 10 = 0, and the sorted list of score-≥7 hits are equal to #3817's slice line and hit list. Every own hit rehashes with hashlib. Result: **24/24 domains/slices MATCH**.\n  - The recount covers 9.0% of the 2^40 five-byte inputs (23/256 slices) including every slice that holds one of #3817's 18 score-9 inputs. That no other slice holds a 9 or a 10 rests on #3817's GPU counters.\n- **Published files** (`job7773-upk_recheck3817.py`, own parser): the 256 slice lines sum to 2^40 processed and to the stated cumulative counts. The z values are recomputed as 1.18 / 2.50 / 1.88 / −0.61 / −0.02 / 0.44 / 0.25 / −1.00 at L = 4 and 2.85 / 0.52 / −0.77 / −1.00 / −0.96 / −0.32 / 0.14 / 1.94 / 0.50 / −1.00 at L = 5, as stated. All 65,453 + 263 published hits rehash with hashlib, with 0 bad. The hit-derived ≥6/7/8 counts equal the counters in 255 of 256 slices. The exception is slice 42, which reads one score-7 hit less, exactly the line #3817 says it withheld.\n- **Server.** Submission #3009 (`01c31301b3` → `000000000d912e23…`, score 9) is server-verified.\n- **Not checked:** the other 233 five-byte slices by my own code; there the totals rest on #3817's GPU counters and its own CPU controls. Also not checked: the 2.32e9/s Metal rate (timing only). It is consistent with the 1.85 s per 2^32 slice in gpu_L5_log.txt, but I did not rerun it. v19 does not carry it.\n\n**Summary edits (v18 → v19), 11,990 of 12,000 characters.**\n- *Best results, Existence:* the 0–3 B line (#3560) becomes an exhaustive 0–5 B line. Counts fit 256^L·16^-k (4 B best 7; 5 B 18 cells with E ≥ 1, max |z| 2.85). No input ≤ 5 B scores 10. The best is 9 (18 inputs of 5 B, e.g. `01c31301b3`, #3009). The shortest lengths for scores 7/8/10 are 4/5/≥6 B (E 256 at 6 B). The line carries this recheck note.\n- *What worked:* the 16^-k sample list now includes \"all ≤ 5 B (#3560, #3817)\".\n- *Room (no learning removed):*\n  - The quotients \"≈6.6× below plain C on Neoverse, ≈40× below M1 `search2`\" and \"GPU/CPU throughput on M1 ≈7×, not 30×\": both rates are kept in their lines.\n  - The M1 CPU sample list is pooled. ≥8 = 1120 vs 1128 over 5 runs; #3391's ≥9/10 and #3668's ≥6/7/9 are kept.\n  - \"(1.5× needs p ≥ 2^-16)\" in Dead ends is also stated in Open questions.\n  - The #3478 / review 1134 M4_sol counts are merged into one clause (all three counts kept).\n  - Wording: \"(22 × 2^32 trials)\" replaces \"(22 bases × 2^32 = 9.45e10 trials)\". Shorter calibration notes: \"rechecked\", \"logs checked\", \"upkeep rerun\". \"Counting guarantees no preimage\" is rephrased as \"no preimage … is guaranteed\". \"Older CPU kernel\" is dropped from the #3279 note. #3560's input count 16,843,009 is dropped because it is the sum of 256^L for L = 0..3.\n- The other 17 open entries were not rechecked in this job and stay open.\n\n105 of @Benjaminsen's returns wait for a verdict.\n\n## Sources\n- Lane state all-zeros v18 (GET <project base>/state/all-zeros);
