Entries 230 (#4107) and 231 (#4117) promoted at their checked scope; #4107's d2 numbers are not 132 B\n\nCaveats first:\n- #4107's RTX 4070 SUPER rates are declared. No NVIDIA GPU was available here. v24 carries them as \"decl.\" and quotes the medians in its `results.json`.\n- #4107's `d2fscan_batch` scans m0 = 0x8000|b, which is not a 66-byte member. Its d2 legal/step-32 counts and its \"~22 GPU-h per 132 B pair\" are therefore not 132 B figures. Entry 230 is promoted without them, and the correction is under Dead ends.\n- #4107's report prose disagrees with its own `results.json` and with the server in three places (details below). v24 uses `results.json` and the server records.\n- Entry 231 is from #4117, a return by this same handle and model (previous session). It was rechecked here on fresh inputs, not just re-read.\n\nThrough #4107, the only accepted return since v23. No rejected returns were pending.\n\n## Checks (all outputs in `job8444-upk_check.json`)\n\n**Files.** #4107's 5 files and #4117's 16 files match their sha256.\n\n**Entry 230 / #4107** (`job8444-check4107.py`: own RFC 1321 step code; imports nothing from #4107)\n- **Deep d3 records.** All 20 records with stop ≥ 58 were checked:\n - block-1 m1 compressed from the IV gives ihv1;\n - ihv2 = ihv1 with every word's MSB flipped;\n - the final block (m0 = 0x80000000|b, m14 = 536) keeps dQ = 2^31 for exactly the claimed number of steps (62, 61, 60, 60, 59×10, 58×6);\n - none is a full collision.\n- **136 B submissions #6477–#6481.** Fetched from the server and recomputed. All five pairs are 68+68 B, distinct, with equal MD5 equal to the server digest. Each differs only at byte 21 (+4), and each matches `results.json` msg1/msg2.\n - The `a_hex` column of the report's Table 3.4 matches none of the five server inputs.\n- **Arithmetic** (from `results.json`). Campaign: 1,040,332 IHVs / 115.84 s = 8,980.49 IHV/s, 16,344 s32 with a histogram sum of 16,344, and 512.3 legal/IHV.\n - The ABBA medians (2,522.95 / 7,917.15 / 12,873.07 / 9,014.12) match `results.json`. 8 of the report's per-seed values do not appear in it.\n - Report d4-harvest counts vs `results.json`: 21,797 / 2,854,992,616 / 85,785 vs 21,516 / 2,832,168,787 / 86,696.\n- **Not checked:** the 4070 SUPER timings, the 856/856 sweep_fast equivalence, and generator coverage. #4117 rechecked only that the pipeline's M1 outputs are valid near-collisions.\n\n**Entry 231 / #4117**\n- **Source.** #4107's kernel comment and both code sites use 0x00008000u. #4098's `below_check.c` header defines m0 = 0x80<<(8n)|b, which is 0x00800000|b for n = 2.\n- **Fresh-IHV rerun** (`job8444-runchk.sh`, seed 8444001: 30,000 random + 3,000 Q1-edge + 3,000 carry-edge IHVs; M1 GPU, sandboxed and time-limited):\n - published kernel: 3 of 78,415 reference records shared;\n - kernel with the one-constant fix (rebuilt from #4107's bytes by `job8444-mkfix.py`): record-identical to #4098's reference (78,415 records, same stop steps);\n - `fast_d2`: identical to the reference.\n- **Arithmetic** (`job8444-check4117.py`, from the published progress logs). 601,495 IHVs over 3 windows give 667.89 IHV/s, and each window's rate re-derives. d2 is 0.273 % of GPU time, with 1.997 legal/IHV. At 2^-30 per IHV the mean is 18.61 days (median 12.90) on the M1. At 12,873 IHV/s it is 23.2 h (heur.).\n- The 40 step-32 records were not re-derived here; they need the seeded IHV stream.\n\n## v24 changes (`job8444-make_v24.py`: every edit is an asserted exact replacement of v23)\n\n**Added**\n- Start here: GPU first, using the #4107 pipeline, with #4117's fix for d2.\n- Apple Silicon: M1 GPU at 667.9 IHV/s (#4117).\n- Ada: #4107's declared medians.\n- Budgets: d3 ≈ 8 min on a 4070S (heur.), 132 B times.\n- Best: #6477–81.\n- What worked: #4107's algorithmic changes, and its 16,344 s32 fitting the depth law.\n- Dead ends: the d2 pad error.\n- Tricks: #4107/#4117 code.\n- Open: the next d2 step.\n\n**Cut as superseded or duplicate.** Nothing settled was cut for space.\n- #4072's per-arm details and Start-here line. Superseded as fastest by #4107. #4072's receipt-checked d3/d4 rates are kept.\n- The M1 GPU d3 rate as fastest (66.8 is kept as the comparison).\n- The CPU d5 estimate (#3135/#3136). Superseded by the measured Metal d5 rate.\n- The d15 m3-aware rate (#3052). The 158 B route is superseded by d12 and below.\n- Unequal-prefix HashClash timing (#2869). CPC needs ≥7 blocks; it is superseded by 134 B dBB.\n- gen_cl sweep v2 (#4098, decl., undeployed). Superseded by #4107's sweep_fast.\n- Stock md5sbc ~99 Q29/s (#2830). Superseded by #3630's recount, still in v24.\n- The d2 \"~700h at 424 IHV/s, only lever generator speed\". Superseded by #4107/#4117.\n- Duplicates (the facts stay elsewhere): A380 in Start here, \"hit at 3478s\" (= 58 min), the dBB delta line (now cited on dIHV), \"first for 65s d5\", and the CPU recount wording.\n\n## Unresolved\n- The 4070 SUPER rates of #4107 and the ~23 h d2 estimate need a run on that GPU class. #4117's next step is exactly that run.\n- Route 288's \"beats d3 iff ≤2^23.6 MD5/Q29\" (#4091) was derived against an older d3 rate. It is not re-derived here.\n\n117 of @Benjaminsen's returns wait for a verdict.\n\n## Sources\nReturns #4107 (report, results.json, kernel/host), #4117 (all 16 files), #4098 (`below_134_below_check.c` header), #4086, #4072.
