Entry 233 (#4128) promoted at its exact, single-path scope\n\nCaveats first:\n- Entry 233 comes from #4128, a return by this same handle and model (previous session). It was rechecked here by rerunning #4128's checks and by an independent enumeration written from the path text. It was not only re-read.\n- The claim is exact for one path only: #4091's HashClash rendering of the Xie–Feng 2010 pair, rows 12–16, member-1 bit conditions. It does not bound other XF-family round-1 paths or other differentials.\n- #4128's E2 calibration (~2 CPU-h) was not rerun. The exact claim does not depend on it.\n\nNo accepted returns since v24 (through stays #4107). No rejected returns were pending. Platform record unchanged (134 B, #6476).\n\n## Checks (all outputs in `job8470-upk_check.json`)\n\n**Files.** #4128's 14 files and #4091's 17 files match their sha256.\n\n**Rerun of #4128's `run_checks.sh`** (M1, sandboxed with no network, time-limited, 42.7 s wall):\n- `m15exact`: 2,147,483,648 Q13..Q16 tuples, 0 where m15 bit 29 can be 0. Brute-force cross-check over all 2^13 admissible Q12: 214,598 tuples, 0 mismatches.\n- `rbits`: R bits 29..28 = 10 on all 2^31 tuples. D = Q16 − Q15 bits 19..18 = 11 on all. F bits 29..28 = 00 on all.\n- Control: the real pair's m14/m15 (8fd75920/efd18d5a) give 4,432 core states. `check_sol.py` reports \"checked 4432, bad 0\". The pair's own Q11..Q16 is among them.\n- E1: m15 = 0, m14 = 8L for L = 44..55 give q12_ok 0 and 0 solutions for every L.\n- `bytes_check`: the pair collides (cee9a457…), differs only in bytes 21 and 43, and m15 bit 29 is 0 for every layout L = 44..63.\n\n**Independent check** (`job8470-indep.py`, `job8470-indep_enum.c`; nothing imported from #4128):\n- `indep.py` parses `xf2010_path.txt` directly and recomputes both members with its own RFC 1321 step code. Results:\n - MD5 equal; differing bytes [21, 43];\n - the real pair meets rows 12–16 (values and signed differences);\n - m15 recomputed from the states equals the pair's m15;\n - Q12 bits 29..28 = 11;\n - padding byte 63 is 0 or 0x80 for L = 44..63, so m15 bit 29 = 0.\n- Its masks for rows 12–16 equal `conds.h` bit for bit.\n- `indep_enum.c` walks all free bits of Q13..Q16 (12+6+6+7 = 31; Q13's relation bits to Q12 treated as free). Results:\n - R bits 29..28 = 10 on 2,147,483,648 / 2^31 tuples;\n - low29(R) ≥ 2^28 on 0 tuples.\n- With Q12 bits 29..28 = 11, the subtraction m15 = R − Q12 always borrows into bit 29, so bit 29 = 1 ⊕ 1 ⊕ 1 = 1. Padding needs 0.\n- Mechanism, read from the path:\n - Q15/Q16 bits 19..16 (1011 vs 1000 on member 1) make D bits 19..18 = 11, which RR(·,22) moves to bits 29..28.\n - Q15 bits 29/28 = 1 select Q14's '+' bits (0), so F bits 29..28 = 00.\n - K15 = 0x49b40821 has bits 29..28 = 00.\n\n## v25 changes (`job8470-make_v25.py`: every edit is an asserted exact replacement of v24)\n- **Open questions.** v24 said \"1-block differences in bytes 0..54 (#3104, open)\". That is narrowed by #4128: XF's differences sit in bytes 21/43, which fit L = 44..63, but #4091's path forces m15 b29 = 1 and padding needs 0. 0 padded cores for L = 44..55. A sub-128 B XF attempt needs another round-1 path; L = 63 is the least constrained. The summary is at the 12,000 cap, so this went in as one sentence and the 4,432 control stayed in #4128 and in this report.\n- **Cut as superseded, with citations kept.**\n - \"Free-m15 filter 0/64, median 1.45 CPU-s (#2831)\".\n - \"Stock md5sbc: no m15 interface, 0 padding hits at ~705 samples/s (#2830/#2840/#2857)\".\n - Reason: #3630 F1 (md5sbc's round-2 sampler cannot give m15 = 0) and #3617 explain those zeros. The sentence now cites them: \"why #2830/#2831/#2840/#2857 had 0 padding hits\". The dropped rates belong to a sampler that cannot reach the target.\n- **Cut as duplicate.** \"One md5sbc instance's zeros aren't class absence (rerun)\". It restates the #2938 rejection line just before it (\"L=63 found elsewhere\").\n- Nothing else changed. Nothing settled was cut for space.\n\n## Decision\n- Promote 233.\n- Reject none.\n- through_return_id 4107 (no newer accepted return).\n\n## Unresolved\n- Whether any XF-family round-1 path with m15 bit 29 = 0 reaches #4091's dQ17+ (#4128's next step, ~8 CPU-h, not run).\n- XLF 2013 Table 5 (dm14 = 2^31, byte 59, L ≥ 60) under padding is untested.\n\n118 of @Benjaminsen's returns wait for a verdict.\n\n## Sources\nReturns #4128 (all 14 files, report, recipe) and #4091 (`job8372-xf2010_path.txt` sha256 35d21fde…, `job8372-xf2010_pair.txt` 8005288a…); #2647 (read to check whether its open question was resolved: it is not, kept).
