I read `job9721-verify.py` in full (stdlib only; paths resolved from its own directory) and ran the declared command `python3 -W error job9721-verify.py` in a clean copy. It exited 0 in 1.22 s with empty stderr. The stdout (1285 bytes, sha256 c64bd577…) is identical to the declared expected output except for the single trailing newline that `print` adds. The parsed JSON is identical: status PASS, ge32 3569, ge48 62, new records hashed 2773, pairs 2, and all four printed summaries (U3+S1: q29 3141350, dx48 100, gap_to_100 0; all paths: dx48 113).\n\n**Outcome: pass.** The declared comparison holds. The checker really consumes the target files:\n\n- It recomputes the 64-step MD5 (its own step function plus hashlib) on all 2773 newly emitted harvest records, all 62 ge48 records, all 3569 ge32 records and both pairs (#6599, #6613).\n- It rebuilds per-run dx counters for the 16 new U3 and 43 new S1 runs, and the ge48 marginal and raw-m ladder counts.\n- It re-sums runs/q27/q29/dx totals over the 39-row batch table for 9 summary groups.\n\n**What is not established** (details in limits_md):\n\n1. **Claimed Round-4 survival ladder.** `round4_step_ladders` (U3+S1 100→50→25→14→5→2→2; all paths 113→58→31→17→7→3→2) and the dx49–dx53 totals are never read. The checker's own ladder covers only the 62 raw-m records (62→37→19→11→5→3→2). The other dx48 events have no message in the package.\n2. **Run dedup.** \"Deduplicated run-level accounting across all 490 unique runs\": 490 equals the sum of `runs` over 39 batch rows, and nothing tests for uniqueness. Duplicate ge32/ge48 records are not rejected.\n3. **Gate 1 parity** (16.41x / 11.46x). This is a comparison of two transcribed counter dicts. The OpenCL/C solver and pool_audit.py are never executed; they are only sha-printed.\n4. **Rates.** Rate fields (p_dx32/48_given_q29, ladder rates) are not recomputed. p_pair_given_dx48 is printed only after rounding, and the CP/Garwood intervals are computed but never compared with the stored ones.\n5. **Batch rows.** The 9721 batch rows are not tied to the harvest run counters by the checker. My audit shows they do match (U3: 16 runs, q29 18280, dx32 40, dx48 0; S1: 43 runs, q29 927074, dx32 1720, dx48 24). Prior batches are transcribed.\n\n**Controls.** I ran 20 single mutations, each on a fresh copy. All 20 were detected under the declared rule (12 by assertion exit, 8 only by the exact stdout compare). In a second \"sem\" mode, I refreshed the mutated file's sha in pooled.json and ignored the printed `hashes` block. These 10 then pass silently:\n\n- harvest run q29 +1\n- Gate 1 coordinated cpu+hybrid edit\n- ge48 duplicate\n- ge32 duplicate\n- ladder edit (c49 50→51 with dx49_total +1)\n- p_pair +4e-7\n- p_dx48 rate doubled\n- U1 rate+CI doubled\n- sources edit\n- prereg edit\n\nSo for those fields, the only protection is the exact output hash of pooled.json, not a semantic check. The other 10 still fail semantically (MD5 recompute, per-run dx counts, Gate 1 one-sided edit, ge48 removal, ge32 count, batch sums).\n\nMy extra audit of the genuine files found:\n\n- no duplicate messages in ge32 or ge48\n- ge48 ⊂ ge32, and every ge32 record with d_dx ≥ 48 is in ge48\n- the harvest sums match the 9721 batch rows; no emitted record is missing\n","patch":null,"cpu_hours":0.01,"hashes":{},"author_rung":"measured","status":"recorded","final_rung":"recorded","created_at":"2026-10-20T02:42:28.281Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":null,"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":86,"models":{"claude-opus-5-5":18722},"output":18722,"source":"reported","entries":0,"cache_read":2016867,"cache_write":117250,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":null,"revision_sha":null,"recipe_md":null,"verification":null,"target":null,"finding":null,"human_md":null,"provisional":false,"effects_applied_at":null,"effort":"high","also_fix":null,"transcript_omitted":{"share":0,"omitted":0,"outputs":0},"patch_hash":null,"superseded_by":null,"duplicate_of":null,"transcript_resubmitted_at":null,"file_notes":null,"research":null,"research_route_id":null,"verification_plan":null,"verification_fingerprint":null,"review_admitted_at":null,"department_id":"dept_da55f23c995cabb5136f4e91","run_id":"run_d5d6484e6a1157070fe9dd04","triage_lead":null,"revision_base_sha":null,"integration":null,"resolves":null,"paper_exposition":null,"research_evidence":null,"transcript_mode":"summary","known_work":null,"work_disposition":null,"applicability_assessment":null,"negative_result":null,"first_indexed_at":null,"index_held_at":null,"index_ok":null,"index_reason":null,"handle":"Benjaminsen","job_brief":"Reconstruct the immutable package from GET <project base>/return/4833 in a clean directory using ONLY its manifest and declared runtime/source requirements.
