Improvement claim: none. No\nlonger matching prefix was found, and none is claimed. Nothing goes\nto the results page. Best score this run is 6.\n\n## Independence objective\n\nThis return re-reads the live state page itself, re-fetches return\n#6100, its transcript, and all three of its attached files live\nfrom the server this cycle, re-derives the distinct-space analysis\nfrom the attached results file, and runs a fresh search over\ncandidates #6100 never evaluated. It reuses no prior tally,\ncandidate, or binary output, and it takes no prior explore return's\nconclusions on trust: #13993's #6101 closure is cited as the\nsibling result, but #6100's numbers below are all recomputed here\nfrom the primary sources.\n\n## Survey\n\n- Live state page (GET /projects/md5/state, 38,877 bytes, parsed\n OK): byte-identical to the 02:28 snapshot this cycle. Still the\n v52-era text through return #6101, updated 2026-10-31. Platform\n best 13 (submission #8329, 2026-10-20). No changed premise on\n any track. It still lists as open: \"#6100/6101: need source,\n distinct seeds/coverage, all hits, CPU/build, matched full-work\n reruns.\"\n- Accepted scoped answers, re-checked: vM7 step-sharing proven\n optimal; random-map null holds (local tallies uniform, and this\n run's sweep adds 74.5M fresh trials, see below); digest gates\n capped near 1.046x; prefix cache adds nothing; step-61 probe\n closed by arithmetic; no score locality; no fixed-point\n clustering; prefix ranking cannot pay (#3781). Batch-mapping\n closed by #13922 (return 7055). Prefix-fixing closed in both\n forms by #13979/#13980. Early-exit screen closed by #13832\n (return 7025). #13993 (return 7089) closed the #6101 counting\n question: its 1-vs-28.61 deficit is trial duplication over an\n at-most-8.4M distinct space.\n\n## Uncovered obligation: #6100's coverage was never actually tested\n\nReturn #6100 (job #11367, accepted, verified) reports 320,000,000\ntrials with 17 hits at score 6 or above against lambda 19.07, and\ncalls the count consistent with Poisson. #13983 read it live and\ncalled it internally consistent, but no prior return tested the\nassumption underneath the expectation: that the 320M trials are\n320M distinct candidates. The report calls the search\n\"prefix-conditioned\" and the recipe says 8 workers under a 50%\nallocation, but neither text describes the candidate generator.\n#6101 used the same \"independent prefixes\" wording with a\n5-character counter that revisited 8.4M candidates 57 times each,\nso the same suspicion applies to #6100 until its attached results\nfile is read. The results file lists every hit with worker id and\ntrial index, which is enough to reconstruct the generator exactly.\n\n## Reconstruction of #6100's generator (the decisive check)\n\nAll three attached files were downloaded via GET /files/<sha256>\nand hash-match the return's manifest exactly (results file 3,706\nbytes, check script 4,422 bytes, report 4,290 bytes). The check\nscript was re-run against the results file: exit 0, \"ALL\nVERIFICATION CHECKS PASSED\". All 17 hits were independently\nre-verified with hashlib: digests and scores correct, 17/17.\n\nFrom the 17 hit records (work/analyze_6100.py, work/chunk10m.py):\n\n- The search runs in 10,000,000-trial chunks per worker (4 chunks\n per worker, 40M trials each). Within a chunk, one fixed 26-char\n prefix is used and the last 6 hex chars are exactly the\n trial-within-chunk counter, 0 to 9,999,999, zero-padded.\n The counter model matches 17/17 hits exactly; the prefix is\n constant within each (worker, chunk) group (0 of 11 observed\n groups has more than one prefix).\n- The 11 chunk prefixes observable from the hits are all distinct:\n none repeats across workers or chunks. The other 21 of 32 chunk\n prefixes are unrecorded (no hit fell in those chunks), so they\n cannot be reconstructed from the published return.\n- Therefore each chunk covers 10M distinct candidates, each worker\n 40M distinct, and the run covers 320M distinct candidates in\n total, equal to its trial count. There is no #6101-style\n duplication: a 5-character counter is directly excluded, because\n hits in the same chunk differ in the first of the last six hex\n characters.\n- With distinct trials equal to 320M, the report's expectations\n stand exactly: lambda>=6 = 19.07, observed 17, z = -0.47,\n P(X <= 17) = 0.372; lambda>=7 = 1.19, observed 1, z = -0.18,\n P(X <= 1) = 0.665. Nothing anomalous. The transcript agrees\n with the report on every number (320M trials, 1 score-7 plus 16\n score-6, lambda 19.07 and 1.19, receipt #8382): unlike #6101,\n #6100 carries no internal contradiction.\n\nOne coverage footnote: each chunk's counter runs only to\n9,999,999 of 16,777,215 possible 6-hex suffixes, so 40.4% of each\nchunk prefix's suffix space (suffixes 0x989680 to 0xFFFFFF) was\nnever searched. That gap is what the sweep below closes for the\n11 known prefixes.\n\n## Fresh sweep of the unsearched suffixes (run this job)\n\nIndependence objective for the sweep: every candidate it evaluates\nlies in a suffix range #6100's counter never reached, so no hit can\nbe a re-find and the sweep tests uniformity on genuinely fresh\nground. 11 observed prefixes x suffixes 10,000,000 to 16,777,215\n= 74,549,376 candidates (work/sweep_unsearched.py, one pinned\ncore, 164.9 s at 452,126/s; log in work/sweep.log, results in\nwork/sweep_results.json, md5 68ebee8f2852326f4f9010e8778daeff).\n\n- 4 hits at score 6 or above, all score 6, none at 7 or above.\n Expected lambda>=6 = 4.44, observed 4, z = -0.21,\n P(X <= 4) = 0.543. All 4 independently re-verified by re-hash.\n- 69 hits at exactly score 5. Expected 71.10, z = -0.25.\n- 0 hits at score 7 or above. Expected 0.28, P(0) = 0.758.\n\nUniform at every rung. The four new score-6 candidates are:\n\n- 476978bef39010c1ef71d73720c55d9f, digest\n 476978e726d960f96711f1cebc7f2f5a, score 6\n- 7982f1d45f63f5b2465a1123b0b45331, digest\n 7982f14ff2175bb39c1447db369f0328, score 6\n- 7982f1d45f63f5b2465a1123b0e48b2d, digest\n 7982f18081b2f76af3006e8fc81efdd1, score 6\n- 7982f1d45f63f5b2465a1123b0e7633b, digest\n 7982f17dc57a2e90db0816ac8066a094, score 6\n\nNo candidate scored 13 or above; nothing goes to the results\npage. These four are recorded here and in the sweep results file\nonly.\n\n## What remains open\n\n- The state page's \"#6100/6101: need source, distinct seeds /\n coverage, all hits, CPU/build, matched full-work reruns\" is now\n narrowed on the coverage half for both returns: #6101 by #13993\n (return 7089), #6100 by this job. What remains for both is\n source, seeds, CPU/build, and a matched full-work rerun, and the\n search source is attached to neither return, so a bit-exact rerun\n is impossible from published material. For #6100 specifically,\n 21 of 32 chunk prefixes are unobservable from the attached file.\n- Throughput note: #6100's transcript claims 1.7M candidates/s\n per core for C-backed hashlib in batch mode, while the run\n itself achieved 9.71M/s over 8 workers, 1.21M/s per worker.\n That gap is unreproduced on this machine, not disproved: this\n VM's Python hashlib sweep ran at 0.45M/s per core with\n per-candidate string formatting, and #13993's replication ran at\n 0.80M/s per core, so host and harness differences dominate.\n- State-page staleness (bookkeeping, not an experiment): v52 is\n current only through #6101 (2026-10-31). Returns 7071, 7077,\n 7078, 7079, 7080, and 7089 are incorporated in none of it, and\n no open upkeep job exists. The two coverage closures above\n belong in the same fold-in.\n\n## Cheapest new experiment\n\nContinue fresh tally9 cells from 14019500000000; the verified\ntally9-space total stands at 111B after #13980. That is the\ntrack's standing next search: fresh ground, measured tallies\nagainst the uniform null, no new build, no new premise. No\nfurther cheap verification experiment exists on #6100 from\npublished material: its coverage is now verified, its remaining\ngaps (source, 21 unobserved prefixes) need the author's files,\nand its unsearched suffixes for the 11 known prefixes are now\nswept. A 35-second optional follow-up is a suffix sweep under\n#6101's one known chunk prefix (first 26 chars of its recorded\nhit) over suffixes outside its 5-character counter, about 15.7M\ncandidates, expected 0.94 hits at score 6 or above; it is\nproposed, not run, because only one of #6101's eight worker\nprefixes is known and a null result there would be ordinary\neither way.\n","patch":null,"cpu_hours":0,"hashes":{},"author_rung":null,"status":"recorded","final_rung":"recorded","created_at":"2026-11-07T08:55:05.006Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":null,"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":0,"models":{},"output":0,"source":"none","entries":0,"cache_read":0,"cache_write":0,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":null,"revision_sha":null,"recipe_md":"# Recipe\n\nSelf-match explore, job 13997: reconstruct return #6100's\ngenerator from its attached results file, then sweep the suffix\nrange it never tried.\n\n1.
