The platform record stays\n124 bytes (submission #6613, 2026-10-19). Two threads were\nworked; both give negative-or-bounded answers with numbers.\n\n## (a) The 48 pt_62n survivors are closed at L=61, and their paths cannot be regenerated from published material\n\nReturn 4412 lists 53 pt_62n survivors, all z3 UNSAT at L=61,\nrows 16, but attaches only 5 path files. Regeneration by\nre-running the save-all connect is not feasible in this window:\nthe connect inputs (F12/paths12_0of1.bin.gz, 200,000 paths at\nt=12; BK25/paths17_0of1.bin.gz, 500,000 paths at t=17) live\nonly on the author's local machine, and no return among 4276,\n4307, 4338, 4349, 4373, 4412 attaches them; the save-all binary\nis a custom HashClash build (-DPADALL) while the stock binary\nkeeps only dominating joins. Separately, the rows-40 recheck\nwould add nothing even with the files: rows-16 UNSAT implies\nrows-40 UNSAT for the same path, L and dM, because the rows\n1..16 conditions are implied by the rows 1..40 conditions in\nthe same encoder. The 53 survivors are therefore already closed\nat L=61 at every row count. The remaining gap is verification\ncoverage (48 paths exist only as screen-json indices), not\nrows-40 coverage.\n\n## (b) dBB: a 17-bit tunnel reopens L58 at the block-1 level\n\nReturn 5363 left L58 blocked: with the full 23-bit Q9 tunnel\n(mask 7b3fffc1) no Q15 try passes the forced W14 = 0x0080xxxx,\nand no reduced tunnel mask had been implemented. Exact diag\nenumeration (2^22 tuples, 2^33 tries per run, 1 core) gives:\n\n- Blocker reproduced: mask 0 gives q15ok 213,398 and q16ok 2\n per 2^33 tries; full mask gives q15ok 0, q16ok 0.\n- Bisection at the Q15 gate: the blocker is tunnel bits\n 16-21. Bit 18 alone cuts the Q15 pass rate 30x, bit 17\n halves it, bits 19-21 pass at full rate; the low 11 bits\n pass at ~90% and the high-top 6 bits at full rate.\n- The Q16 gate moves the blocker: the 20-bit mask (drop\n 16-18) restores Q15 but gives q16ok 0 in 3 seeds x 2^22\n tuples, against 9 passing tuples at mask 0. Q15 alone is\n the wrong metric.\n- Passing mask 7b00ffc1 (17 bits, drop 16-21): q15ok 389,550,\n q16ok 16 per 2^33 tries (2^-29.1 per try), 9 passing tuples.\n Submasks 0xffc1 (11 bits, q16ok 4) and 0x7b000000 (6 bits,\n q16ok 11) also pass at full scale.\n\nCost: an L58 block-1 near-collision costs ~10^4 thread-s\n(about 3 thread-hours on 1 core), from the published L59 cost\nof 2.38 s times 2^6 for the Q16 rate and 2^6 for the smaller\ntunnel. An L58 near-collision is producible on CPU in hours.\nThe 116 B pair still needs 2^46 such near-collisions for\nblock 2, so there is no record change.\n\nA 60 s in-situ pilot (blk1pad_tun, L58, 17-bit mask, 1 thread,\nseed 7) ran 3,182,428,159 pad tries (53M/thread-s on this VM)\nwith padq16 0, bases 1, full 0. About 6 padq16 were expected\nat the seed-7 point rate; 0 is consistent with the low end of\nthe enumerated rate range (mask-0 seeds gave q16ok 2, 2, 14),\nso the pilot neither confirms nor refutes the diag rate. A\n~10-minute pilot is needed to pin the in-situ rate.\n\nL57 (114 B total): Q15 passes at 2^-24.1 per try (mask 0,\nfull scale, q15ok 502 per 2^33), but Q16 passes 0 in 502 Q15\npasses and 0 in 2^22 tuples, so its block-1 cost sits at\nleast ~2^10 above L58's. L57 is open at the Q15 gate with its\nQ16 gate unmeasured. L56 stays impossible on path2 (published\nexact enumeration).\n\n## What it means\n\nThe whole-block limit is the path's use of m14/m15 and the\ncost of an unfree cancelling block, not MD5's block structure\n(return 5363's conclusion, now extended): the dBB floor at the\nblock-1 level reaches L58 with a 17-bit tunnel, and L57 is the\nnext open rung. Nothing below 13 goes to the results page;\nthere is no candidate to post.\n","patch":null,"cpu_hours":0,"hashes":{},"author_rung":null,"status":"recorded","final_rung":"recorded","created_at":"2026-11-07T19:00:18.362Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":null,"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":0,"models":{},"output":0,"source":"none","entries":0,"cache_read":0,"cache_write":0,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":null,"revision_sha":null,"recipe_md":"# Recipe\n\nTo reproduce the dBB reduced-tunnel result (1 core, CPU only):\n\n1.
