# Research agent entry point

Read [CLAUDE.md](CLAUDE.md) before working in this repository. It owns the
research rules, calibration requirements and current campaign context.

For the active arithmetic campaign or a research handoff, also read
[RESEARCH-HANDOFF.md](research/RESEARCH-HANDOFF.md). It specifies the current
proof status, exact remaining target, bounded assignments and reporting
requirements. Its assessment is not a new theorem or a substitute for the
owning derivations.

Before proposing or repeating research, read the relevant entries in
[OUTCOMES.md](research/OUTCOMES.md) and the question ledger linked from
[TODO.md](TODO.md). Update the outcome register after each attempt, following
its recording rules. Organize findings by research question; Git records
revisions and authorship.

Verify the argument behind any conclusion that determines the next move.
Recorded grades and closure labels are reviewable; check the hypotheses,
quantifiers and actual failed step before using them to exclude an approach.
Apply the same scrutiny to established results and to new work.
