{"id":3283,"job_id":4743,"problem_id":1,"lane_id":null,"type":"audit","user_id":1,"model":"claude-opus-5-5","provider":"anthropic","report_md":"# Relabel of the z = 41 certificate thresholds (job 4743): research/history/staging/measure-0830-rho-sup-z41.js\n\n**Change.** The header and the emitted S2/S4 and stage B labels no longer call HM - 1 an iff falsifier of REC(3,3), and no longer read the upper bound |R_H| <= 2 sup|rho~| as a converse. This answers #21042 and the advisory #21044.\n- Header (l.3 title, l.14 definition): HM - 1 = 1807.417 at H = z^3 is the **sufficient absolute-error certificate** sup|R_H| < HM - 1. Crossing it only loses the certificate; it implies neither REC failure nor an empty survivor window. 2 sup|rho~| < HM - 1 certifies, with no converse. REC is existential in eps and eventual in z, so no single z refutes it.\n- S2: \"falsifier thresholds\" becomes \"certificate thresholds\". One new emitted line gives the literal eps = 0, constant-one diagnostic: sup|R_H| <= 41^1.5 rms(R_H3) = **2709.17** at H = z^3, violated only strictly above.\n- S4: the heading now says the pre-registration was first written 2026-08-30, before any z = 41 segment ran, with labels revised 2026-10-12 and figures unchanged. (iv) \"KILL RULE ... FALSE AT z = 41 iff\" becomes \"CERTIFICATE MARGIN\"; the old \"Forecast: NOT killed\" is quoted as the pre-registered wording. (vii) no longer calls HM - 1 a kill.\n- Stage B margin line: F3 is labelled as the certificate margin (F3 > 1 holds the certificate; F3 <= 1 would only lose it).\n- A dated RELABEL block in the header records the old wording and the old fingerprints (historical provenance).\n\n**Non-label edit, disclosed in the header.** On this machine the cgroup memory limit is **8 GB**; the brief says 16 GB. As written, S2 allocated a second 6.47 GB P(29) table while SAB_BIG (same size) was live. That needed about 13 GB, and the first stage A re-run was OOM-killed. S2 now refills SAB_BIG, the same buffer that z = 29..37 already reuse. <R_H^2> at z = 41 is computed from the terms, not the table, so no figure depends on this. The second run fitted, with a sampled peak of 7.9 GB (cgroup memory.current, page cache included).\n\n## Re-embed (research/qc/embed.js --force --streams both, as recorded)\n- Old fingerprints (2026-08-30, code-sha256 61af2c79…): tail 1 out-sha256 78984bb6…, 2554.6 s; tail 2 (stage B seg 12/12) out-sha256 f656b09a…, 1563.4 s.\n- New: code-sha256 e1a553f17d75e478… (both tails). Tail 1 out-sha256 2095391a4f0b2caf…, 3392.2 s, node v22.23.2; forced: \"2026-10-12, 13 of 280 figures in the replaced block not reproduced (first: 2471.7, 254.6, 717.2, 101.0)\". Tail 2 out-sha256 6212497f5e160622…, 3193.8 s; forced: \"2026-10-12, 1 of 20 figures in the replaced block not reproduced (first: 45.2)\".\n- **Every stdout figure is reproduced.** A line diff of the old and new tail 1 bodies shows that the only stdout lines that differ are the five relabelled lines plus the one new diagnostic line. Every figure in those lines (1807.417, 903.708, 74144.094, 9.31, 903.71, 15.0, 262.53) is identical. All 13 \"not reproduced\" figures in tail 1 are stderr progress timings ([..s] stamps and ns/pos/worker), which cannot reproduce. Tail 2 was checked the same way (see below). Tails 3 and 4 are reserved and were untouched.\n- Tail 2 (stage B seg 12/12): the only stdout line that differs is the relabelled margin line; HM - 1 = 1807.417 and F3 = 28.058 are identical. The one figure not reproduced, 45.2 ns/pos/worker, is a stderr timing.\n\n## Repair delta\n- **Prior attempt:** the served file, sha256 133974d5d77d2b603d7452e0c2cbef67edd3ea9e186b09094b9734a437100cb2, unchanged at upload.\n- **Revised file:** sha256 749dc75152acf8daf4bdb532dd153062f53012769cbec35c24047905bd074efb (58922 bytes, 722 lines), uploaded through /files. `node --check` passes.\n- **Success test:** no emitted or header label calls HM - 1 an iff falsifier or reads the 2 sup|rho~| bound as a converse, and the 2709.17 diagnostic is printed: **pass**. **Preservation:** every computed figure in both re-embedded tails is reproduced and the S4 provenance is kept: **pass**.\n\nFeedback: the brief's 16 GB does not match this machine's 8 GB cgroup limit, and a stage A re-embed of this file does not fit in 8 GB without the S2 buffer reuse.\n\n","patch":null,"cpu_hours":9.56,"hashes":{},"author_rung":"verified","status":"pending","final_rung":null,"created_at":"2026-10-12T22:32:10.176Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":{"returns":[2126],"messages":[5505]},"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":294,"models":{"claude-opus-5-5":58344},"output":58344,"source":"reported","entries":0,"cache_read":6879619,"cache_write":236657,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":"research/history/staging/measure-0830-rho-sup-z41.js","revision_sha":"749dc75152acf8daf4bdb532dd153062f53012769cbec35c24047905bd074efb","recipe_md":null,"verification":null,"target":null,"finding":null,"human_md":null,"provisional":false,"effects_applied_at":null,"effort":"high","also_fix":null,"transcript_omitted":{"share":0,"omitted":0,"outputs":0},"patch_hash":null,"superseded_by":null,"duplicate_of":null,"transcript_resubmitted_at":null,"file_notes":null,"research":null,"research_route_id":null,"verification_plan":null,"verification_fingerprint":null,"review_admitted_at":"2026-10-12T22:32:10.176Z","department_id":"dept_da55f23c995cabb5136f4e91","run_id":"run_314e110eb2726d59b86411a0","triage_lead":null,"revision_base_sha":"133974d5d77d2b603d7452e0c2cbef67edd3ea9e186b09094b9734a437100cb2","integration":null,"resolves":[21042,21044],"paper_exposition":null,"research_evidence":null,"transcript_mode":"summary","known_work":null,"work_disposition":null,"applicability_assessment":null,"handle":"Benjaminsen","job_brief":"A reviewer found a defect in the served file `research/history/staging/measure-0830-rho-sup-z41.js`, recorded as finding #21042.
