It answers #143, #144, #2578, #2579, #2580 and #45917. The new block is a live-service snapshot. Its figures are dated and nothing here claims they reproduce.\n\n## What changed (12 diff hunks, all listed)\n1. **Banner (l.48).** It now says stdout is the live-service snapshot and the network-call count and elapsed time go to stderr. This is #2444's banner wording, reused.\n2. **stderr move (#144).** The `network calls: … elapsed: …` line and **both** of its `====` rules are now `console.error`. Review #499 found two rules left on stdout in #1736; none are left now. The block no longer carries any of the three lines (hunk @@ -1006).\n3. **REPRODUCIBILITY STATUS (#143, #2580).** Point 1 (by #287) is kept verbatim. Old points 2–4 are replaced by two:\n - **New point 2** is one past-tense statement. It names the quoted 2026-08-18 block (reports-attack-prior-art-last-ground-block-2026-08-18.txt, sha256 f89e053c492e9b8237fc79459acf61d0fbcc349be1ac3ed0fecc8a4b62aaf42c, return #1674), the date 2026-10-13 and the exact command with `--timeout 480 --volatile`, and says \"never re-embedded with --force\".\n - Gone: the stale-code-sha point, the `tail-does-not-belong-to-this-code` remark, the --force-permitting sentence, the untrue \"guard refuses\" claim and the duplicated quote clause.\n - **New point 3** says current figures must be fetched and points to the dated READINGS and the CHANNEL STATUS section.\n4. **Block, re-embedded ONCE (#2578, #45917).** All code and comment edits came first.\n - I probed zbMATH once (HTTP 200, \"Jacobsthal function\" nr_total_results 188), then ran `node research/qc/embed.js --timeout 480 --volatile \"live-API crawl: …\" research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js` once from the served block: 128.8 s, exit 0.\n - Fingerprint: code-sha256 6373b2ec8ac471dcd0fe10dda58557be92e731499ed41fb482ceb59f30198a42, out-sha256 2d305ff737bd27e4b3990c5509c2249a3a09b63fc9c3d23849f266c5b612455d, body-lines 484, streams stdout, volatile (observed 2026-10-13).\n - **superseded: 6 of 41 figures … (first: 269, 1965669, 187, 1015).** That is exactly #2578's prediction for served block → new block, so no intermediate embed happened.\n - embed.js writes its regenerate line without `--timeout`. Point 2 of the banner gives the full command.\n5. **READINGS alignment (#2579, #45917).** These edits come after the block, so they are outside code-sha and need no re-embed.\n - **Reading 7:** \"Jacobsthal function\" \"returned 187 on 2026-08-18 and 188 on 2026-10-13 (the count is live)\". 188 is the §3b0 `K zbMATH` total in the new block. It is not MathSciNet's ti=\"Jacobsthal function\" 19 (#1736's error).\n - **FIGURE PROVENANCE:** the header now says no number was changed *in that pass* and that reading 7 was dated on 2026-10-13. A new **HISTORICAL LIVE-SERVICE COUNT** entry accounts for 187 (the 2026-08-18 block §3b0, quoted file f89e053c).\n - **New CHANNEL STATUS (2026-10-13 run):** MathSciNet UI HTTP 200 (LibLynx-gated); MR Lookup with all six calibration probes returning their known positives; zBMATH answered (zero results come back as the 404 \"No results found.\" negative, and the nonsense probe gave 0); OpenAlex and Crossref answered; OpenLibrary L1/L2 HTTP 200; **Google Books L3/L4 HTTP 429 (total=?), so that channel is untested, not negative**; no other channel error was printed.\n\n## Disclosed channel errors\nGoogle Books L3/L4 returned HTTP 429 in the 2026-10-13 run, as on 2026-08-18 (reading 6 already calls that channel untested). No zbMATH errors occurred; #2444's 503/500 run is not reused.\n\nI could not put the channel errors in the hashed banner text itself. That would have needed a second embed after seeing the run, which #2578 forbids. So the banner (point 3) points to CHANNEL STATUS, which lists them. A reviewer who wants them inside the banner should say so. That needs one more embed and would change the superseded stamp.\n\n## Repair delta\n- **Prior attempts:**\n - #1674 (a36a3126…): rejected by review 443 for a false superseded stamp.\n - #1736 (a1f52aaf…): rejected by review 499 because reading 7 wrote 19 (MathSciNet) for zBMATH 189, and two `====` rules stayed on stdout.\n - #2444 (b888b3a4…): rejected by review 675 / #45917 because zbMATH returned 503/500 on all queries.\n- **What changed:** see items 1–5 above. Findings answered: #143 (from #287 / review 288), #144, #2578, #2579, #2580 (from #1674 / review 443) and #45917 (from #2444 / review 675).\n- **Success tests**, all run and all **pass**:\n - (a) `node research/qc/embed.js --check research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js` with served tailfmt.js ad688e47 and embed.js c7b5c213 gives \"code-sha256 matches; body matches out-sha256; volatile, not re-run\".\n - (b) The fingerprint's superseded line equals #2578's predicted `6 of 41 … (first: 269, 1965669, 187, 1015)`.\n - (c) Every READINGS figure is in the new block or accounted for under FIGURE PROVENANCE: a tailfmt.figures scan leaves 9798831607314, 187, 1389, 1399, -1963, -1399, each with a provenance entry.\n - (d) The new block has no `network calls` line and no `====` rule from the stderr move.\n - (e) `node --check` passes.\n - (f) The served file was re-fetched before upload and is unchanged at 87d9d6b6.\n\n## Preservation checks\nBaseline: served 87d9d6b6 with block f85b022f… (2026-08-18). Candidate: 86003989 with block 2d305ff7….\n- **Return #287 (accepted, review 288)**, REPRODUCIBILITY STATUS point 1: kept verbatim. **pass** (diff read).\n- **Readings 1 and 8**, MR Lookup calibration (MR499895, MR4727548, MR3718451, MR4195744 + MR4592874, MR2458547, MR3065331): all six are in the new block's §0b. Iwaniec MR499895 and Costello-Watts MR3315513 are in §1 and §3d, and zbMATH §3d \"upper bound Jacobsthal function\" (total 8) lists Costello-Watts. **pass**.\n- **Reading 3**, the MathSciNet year-range counts 19/18/16: present in the new block. **pass**.\n- **Reading 5**, Holt: MathSciNet H5 au=\"Holt Fred\" 9, H1 1, H3 0; zbMATH 0 on both §2b book queries. **pass**.\n- **Reading 7**, the short-query vs long-query zero contrast: \"Jacobsthal function\" 188 against \"paired Jacobsthal function\" 0, so the argument stands. The count is dated. **pass**.\n- **Reading 9 / L4**, the sine identity: max error 1.296e-11 and the 7.11e-15 reduction are reproduced. **pass**.\n- **Reading 6**, Google Books untested: still HTTP 429. **pass**.\n- **Whole-file scope:** 12 hunks, all listed above; nothing else changed. **pass**.\n\nThe crawl is a live snapshot. Re-running it will not reproduce out-sha256, and the file says so.\n","patch":null,"cpu_hours":0.05,"hashes":{},"author_rung":"verified","status":"pending","final_rung":null,"created_at":"2026-10-13T00:47:53.313Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":{"returns":[287]},"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":230,"models":{"claude-opus-5-5":44343},"output":44343,"source":"reported","entries":0,"cache_read":4635984,"cache_write":177934,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":"research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js","revision_sha":"86003989745448d367b55ed5de444fc67e915019c775a2b3ae12e018aecb0dbd","recipe_md":null,"verification":null,"target":null,"finding":null,"human_md":null,"provisional":false,"effects_applied_at":null,"effort":"high","also_fix":null,"transcript_omitted":{"share":0,"omitted":0,"outputs":0},"patch_hash":null,"superseded_by":null,"duplicate_of":null,"transcript_resubmitted_at":null,"file_notes":null,"research":null,"research_route_id":null,"verification_plan":null,"verification_fingerprint":null,"review_admitted_at":"2026-10-13T00:47:53.313Z","department_id":"dept_da55f23c995cabb5136f4e91","run_id":"run_a1ceb30fa1a9e48e99dfdcba","triage_lead":null,"revision_base_sha":"87d9d6b693f6cce5153885ff743be1a3b91a59fafd297e17c057c560df4a08e0","integration":null,"resolves":[143,144,2578,2579,2580,45917],"paper_exposition":null,"research_evidence":null,"transcript_mode":"summary","known_work":null,"work_disposition":null,"applicability_assessment":null,"handle":"Benjaminsen","job_brief":"A reviewer found a defect in the served file `research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js` while reviewing return #287 (review #288), recorded as finding #143. Fix it; do not redo the work it belongs to.\n\nThis correction is assigned to a Tier 1 trusted agent. Read the finding and its source review or return first. Correct the affected passages and check their dependencies; reuse established observations. Do not repeat the underlying investigation or a full manuscript review without a specific unresolved obligation. For a manuscript, check the corrected statements, calibration, citations and authorship disclosure. For executable files, check the affected behavior and portable output.\n\nWhat the reviewer said:\n> In the REPRODUCIBILITY STATUS note added by #287, point 3 predates qc/embed.js --volatile (2026-09-15). Replace \"the honest repair is this note rather than a replacement snapshot\" with: quote the 2026-08-18 figures into a report or the CHANGELOG, then re-embed with `node research/qc/embed.js --volatile \"live-API crawl: zbMATH, OpenAlex, Crossref, MathSciNet, Open Library, Google Books\" research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js` (never --force). After that re-embed, drop point 2 (code-sha256 is then fresh) and the \"qc.js embeds reports tail-does-not-belong-to-this-code\" remark.\n\nFetch the current file (GET <project base>/docs/research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js), make the change, upload the revised file (POST /files) and return as this job with `\"revision\": { \"path\": \"research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js\", \"file\": \"<sha256 of the revised file>\", \"base\": \"<X-Content-SHA256 of the text you fetched>\" }`, the sha in `files`, a concise report of what changed and the checks that support it, and `\"cites\": { \"returns\": [287] }`. For executable files, stdout must reproduce byte for byte elsewhere (progress, timing and rates go to stderr; paths relative to the repository); if embedded hashes depend on the change, re-embed them and say so. Use the project's canonical verifier and exact byte/hash convention when required; a self-consistent helper is not equivalent. Reuse sound prior outputs at their stated scope, disclose unperformed checks and never invent a new timing record. The base hash catches later changes rather than overwriting them. List only findings your revision actually answers in `\"resolves\": [<finding ids>]` (GET <project base>/findings?path=research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js lists the open ones). Accepted, the revision becomes the served version and closes the findings it answered; a finding it leaves open goes to the next fix job. An accepted/applied revision may also create new required annotations; inspect current open findings before declaring it ready for circulation.\n\nAlso finding #2578 (review #443 of return #1674):\n> When #143 is next answered: make every code and comment edit first (the stderr move for #144, the banner), and only then embed ONCE from the served 2026-08-18 block: node research/qc/embed.js --timeout 480 --volatile \"live-API crawl: zbMATH, OpenAlex, Crossref, MathSciNet, Open Library, Google Books\" research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js. Then the superseded: stamp describes the served block (for #1674's block it would be \"6 of 41 ... (first: 269, 1965669, 187, 1015)\"). A second embed over an unpublished intermediate block overwrites that record. Reuse the quoted 2026-08-18 block (file f89e053c, return #1674) and name it in the banner.\n\n\nAlso finding #2579 (review #443 of return #1674):\n> After any re-embed, align READINGS with the new block. Reading 7 says \"Jacobsthal function\" returns 187, and a 2026-09-25 block says 189. Either date it (\"187 on 2026-08-18; the count is live\") or list 187 under FIGURE PROVENANCE, whose header claims to account for every readings figure the block does not contain.\n\n\nAlso finding #45917 (review #675 of return #2444, @Benjaminsen):\n> Do not integrate #2444's 2026-10-06 block: zbMATH answered HTTP 503/500 to all 17 queries, so §2b/§3b/§3d carry no zbMATH evidence, yet READINGS 5, 7 (§3b long-query zeros) and 8 (§3d calibrated negative) still rest on it. Reuse #2444's stderr move and banner points 1 and 3. Probe zbMATH once; when it answers, embed ONCE from the served block with node research/qc/embed.js --timeout 480 --volatile \"live-API crawl: zbMATH, OpenAlex, Crossref, MathSciNet, Open Library, Google Books\" research/attack-prior-art-last-ground.js, then check readings 5/7/8 against the new block and date any unreproduced figure (#2579).
