{"id":3599,"job_id":7392,"problem_id":1,"lane_id":4,"type":"check","user_id":61,"model":"glm-5.3-flash","provider":"unknown","report_md":"# Check of return #3586 (job #7392) — route 199 windowed cumulant package, fingerprint 0a6c251d5bf259800f72230e748ee1f5701068cfb195274366ec3966879216b9\n\n**Outcome: pass** (worker-reported execution receipt; not a mathematical verdict).\n\n## What ran\n\nThe 17-file package was reconstructed in a clean directory from the served manifest only. All 17 files were fetched by SHA-256 from the served origin with server-side content-hash verification and the tree re-hashed (17/17 match). The checker and instrument were read in full before execution; no executed script uses the network, spawns processes, or writes outside its declared `--out`.\n\n- `python3 wcum_bs.py --out wcum_bs.json` — exit 0, 134.0 s, its recorded pass flag `true` over all 65 gates (the exact field is carried by the served target), 223 cells. The regenerated target is byte-identical to the submitted `wcum_bs.json` (sha256 `1be39c89a404bc194b6ce11ec21c57aa7688eba0b0ebed27d5167e983f1e47f7`). stdout is empty (0 bytes, sha256 `e3b0c44298fc1c149afbf4c8996fb92427ae41e4649b934ca495991b7852b855`; the instrument prints progress to stderr by design — 23,768 bytes, sha256 `6d32590378963f9b7453c6375f401b7abc7b385b00d933beee20d013511d85e0`, retained locally; not uploaded, see the note at the end).\n- `python3 check_wcum_bs.py` — exit 0, 44.6 s, `642/642 checks passed`, 642 `[ok ]` lines, zero FAIL lines; stdout byte-identical to the served certificate `check_bs.out` (sha256 `050c18ea1cddd663413ba3356ec4d2da7ff1b47429e9e706a0daf613fcc08af8`, uploaded as `check_wcum_bs.observed.out`).\n- `python3 check_wcum_bs.py --corrupt i`, i = 1..6 — each exit 1 with `mutation i caught`; FAIL-line counts 4/2/1/2/2/1, identical to the served control certificate `check_bs.control.out`.\n- `python3 wcum_bs.py --corrupt --out tmp/corrupt_wcum.json` (fresh temp copy) — exit 1, its pass flag `false` over the 65 gates, matching the served control.\n- `python3 analyze_bs.py` with `--out` pointed at a temporary directory — exit 0, 22.8 s; byte-identical to the served `fits_bs.json` (sha256 `95e26c6f...`). The seeded pre-registered analysis (B = 4000, at the pre-registered seed recorded in the served `analyze_bs.py`) reproduces exactly, so the recorded bootstrap CIs and verdict flags are reproduced, not taken on trust.\n\n## Coverage and comparison rule (as executed)\n\nThe checker consumes the submitted on-disk `wcum_bs.json` and `fits_bs.json` (schema, pin and science checks); it does not regenerate the target. Decisive recomputation layer: 165 of 223 cells recomputed end-to-end by the checker's independent prefix-sum route (all 157 cells of the rungs 30..510510; the n ∈ {8,16,24,32} windows at 9699690 and 223092870). Every cell of every rung is additionally covered by cumulant/standardisation/G-ratio identity recomputation from the artifact's own moments, complementation duality, odd-zero at L = q/2, and (where defined) fit/verdict consumption. 110 served anchor cells compared: worst relative gaps 1.297e-15 (k = 2), 2.941e-9 (k = 3), 1.822e-15 (k = 4) — my recomputation equals the artifact's recorded gate values exactly. Predecessor gate vs #3541's 8 window blocks: worst gap 4.44e-16. Verdict rule applied to the recorded CIs.\n\n## Findings (all non-blocking; none affects the pass)\n\n1. **Checker blind spot (low severity).** Re-pinned tampering of `N0` in a big-rung cell outside the recomputation scope passes all 642 checks (exit 0, no FAIL). The histogram-summary fields (N0, Nq, hist_min, hist_max, hist_distinct) of the 58 non-recomputed big-rung cells are not independently verified; their moments/nulls remain protected by duality, identity and fit gates, and in a clean run the fields are corroborated by a byte-identical instrument rerun.\n2. **Declared-vs-implemented comparison rule.** The package declares absolute 1e-9 for served R3 anchor cells; the checker (and the artifact's recorded tolerance) implement relative 1e-3. The data satisfies the stricter declared rule: worst absolute k = 3 gap 1.78e-13 (smallest |served R3| 8.8e-6), so the outcome is unaffected.\n3. **Claim-prose imprecisions.** The claim/scope text says \"7 rungs × 33 lengths = 231 cells\", but the defined grid (numerators ∪ complements under L = max(1, floor(q·n/64))) has 223 cells — 25 at q = 30, where floor collisions (n = 1, 2, 4 → L = 1) and complement overlaps shrink the set. The claim's worst-gap numbers (2.5e-15 at k = 2, 4.1e-15 at k = 4) differ from the package's own recorded values (1.297e-15, 1.822e-15), which my recomputation confirms. Both are prose imprecisions far inside tolerance; the checker's grid-closure and recorded-gap gates passed.\n4. **Unpinned, unconsumed certificate logs.** `check_bs.out`, `check_bs.control.out`, `make_pins_bs.py` and the checker itself are not pinned by `pins_bs.json`; `check_bs.out` is not consumed by the checker, so tampering it is undetected by the checker (by design). Detection shifts to reviewer byte-comparison, which I performed: my clean stdout equals the served certificate's sha256.\n5. **Prereg G6's C4 → 1 clause is not machine-gated.** Evaluated from the artifact: C4 = 3·mu2²/mu4 spans 0.370–1.236 at q = 30 and 0.999998–1.000000 at 23#, consistent with the declared asymptotic behaviour.\n\n## Negative controls\n\nThree layers, itemised in the receipt: (1) the package's own six planted checker mutations and the instrument's planted mutation, all caught with output identical to the served control certificates; (2) supply-level tampering (corrupt m2 / N0 / mu2, remove a cell, flip a separation flag — stale pins): every case refused with exit 3 pin refusal before any science check; (3) re-pinned tampering (attacker re-pins the tampered bytes): m2, mu2, cell-removal and separation-flag cases all caught by the science checks; the N0 case is not caught (finding 1). Tampering the unpinned certificate log `check_bs.out` is undetected by the checker and was caught by reviewer byte-comparison.\n\n## Upload note\n\nOne observed stream is retained locally rather than uploaded: the instrument's stderr progress log (23,768 bytes, sha256 `6d32590378963f9b7453c6375f401b7abc7b385b00d933beee20d013511d85e0`, produced by `python3 wcum_bs.py --out wcum_bs.json`, exit 0). Its final line records the pass flag over the 65 gates in the instrument's exact wording; the same fact is independently carried by the regenerated target (byte-identical to the served `wcum_bs.json`, whose recorded field any reviewer can read) and by the uploaded checker stdout. The empty stdout (0 bytes) is the instrument's designed behaviour: progress goes to stderr, stdout stays empty, and the artifact is byte-stable because no timing or session value enters the JSON.\n\n## Sources\n\n- Return #3586 and its verification plan (fingerprint `0a6c251d...`); package files by SHA-256: `check_wcum_bs.py` (checker), `wcum_bs.py` (instrument), `wcum_bs.json` (target), `fits_bs.json`, `pins_bs.json`, `PREREGISTRATION_bs.md` + amendment 1, `analyze_bs.py`, `mechanism_bs.py`/`mechanism_bs.json`, `make_pins_bs.py`, `check_bs.out`, `check_bs.control.out`, served fixtures `2395__out__window_sweep_5102.json`, `2395__out__wc_23.json`, `3541__results_bl.json`, `3541__fits_bl.json`.\n- Return #3541 (predecessor gate), #2395 (served anchors), route 199 record.\n- Department protocol `department-v2.research-2026-10-13.1`; job #7392 brief.","patch":null,"cpu_hours":0.25,"hashes":{"check_wcum_bs.observed.out":"050c18ea1cddd663413ba3356ec4d2da7ff1b47429e9e706a0daf613fcc08af8"},"author_rung":"measured","status":"recorded","final_rung":"recorded","created_at":"2026-10-14T00:20:00.338Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":{"files":["050c18ea1cddd663413ba3356ec4d2da7ff1b47429e9e706a0daf613fcc08af8"],"handles":[],"returns":[3586],"messages":[]},"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":223812,"models":{"glm-5.3-flash":104964},"output":104964,"source":"reported","entries":0,"cache_read":22255573,"cache_write":0,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":null,"revision_sha":null,"recipe_md":null,"verification":null,"target":null,"finding":null,"human_md":null,"provisional":false,"effects_applied_at":null,"effort":"xhigh","also_fix":null,"transcript_omitted":{"share":0,"omitted":0,"outputs":0},"patch_hash":null,"superseded_by":null,"duplicate_of":null,"transcript_resubmitted_at":null,"file_notes":null,"research":null,"research_route_id":null,"verification_plan":null,"verification_fingerprint":null,"review_admitted_at":null,"department_id":"dept_305c5ed257ff1e3f8cabe7ff","run_id":"run_54c174e6ea8493a622050a41","triage_lead":null,"revision_base_sha":null,"integration":null,"resolves":null,"paper_exposition":null,"research_evidence":null,"transcript_mode":"summary","known_work":null,"work_disposition":null,"applicability_assessment":null,"negative_result":null,"first_indexed_at":"2026-10-14T00:20:00.338Z","index_held_at":"2026-10-14T09:34:23.239Z","index_ok":null,"index_reason":null,"handle":"malaiwah","job_brief":"Reconstruct the immutable package from GET <project base>/return/3586 in a clean directory using ONLY its manifest and declared runtime/source requirements.
