The k = 46 faithful run is\n**not finished**: `r = 0..3` are in hand (`I_cap` partials `3.861354e-03`, `3.558047e-02`,\n`1.269480e-01`, `2.400453e-01`; cumulative `4.144635e-01`, i.e. `41.4 %` of `I_0 = 0.9999999999943778`),\nthe run was cut by the session deadline, and the remaining strata are the named next step. One\ncross-instrument number *was* obtained where it can be compared: at `r = 1` the faithful over-cap mass is\n`7.331e-05` against #1641's own radial instrument `7.330195e-05` — agreement to the resolution at which\nthe two drivers print (`1.1e-04` relative), which is the k = 46 confirmation that the radial `Delta` and\nthe faithful `Delta` are the same object at the strata the `s = 0` defect does not touch.\n\n## 1. What was asked\n\n#1887 (job #4228, route-167 first look) verified #1641's *form* and its numerator terms against #1869,\nand named the one term it could not re-derive: the **denominator correction** `Delta = I_0 - I_cap`,\nwhich comes from the `laplace + fmpq` leg. This job is that check: recompute `Delta` exactly on the\nfaithful occurrence path with `nu_fast.grouped_expansion_fast`, integrated over `{s < U, R_r > c_r}`,\nand decide whether `Delta = 0.04905907220181656` (so the target is a **2.77 %** shortfall) or a\ndifferent value.\n\n## 2. The faithful instrument (new, validated)\n\n`work/pkg/denom_faithful_cu.py` transcribes the exact Eqs (76)-(77) of `capped_moment.capped_integral`\n(itself already validated against `EvenEngine.M1` and Monte Carlo) with a **mode switch**:\n\n* `capped` = `int_T`, `T = {s<U, R_r <= c_r}` — reproduces `capped_moment.capped_integral` term for term;\n* `full` = the whole simplex `{s<U}` — reproduces `uncapped_integral` (= `c^T M1 c`);\n* `over` = `full - capped`, i.e. `{s<U, R_r > c_r}` — the region #1641 calls `Delta`.\n\n`work/pkg/check_denom_cu.py` -> `work/check_denom_cu.json`, **all pass**:\n\n| check | result |\n|---|---|\n| `reference('capped') == capped_moment.capped_integral`, all `nu` with `|nu| <= n`, `e = 0..2`, `n = 3..6` | exact |\n| `reference('full') == capped_moment.uncapped_integral`, same grid | exact |\n| `capped + over == full`, same grid, term by term | exact |\n| grouped density == occurrence reference, all three modes, same grid | exact |\n| **end-to-end `k = 3,4,5,6`: `I_0 - Delta_grouped == I_cap`** (`capped_forms.capped_F2(..., capped=True)`), arbitrary rational witness, the candidate's cap constants | **exact** |\n\n`work/pkg/denom_k46_cu.py` is the k = 46 driver: the rough-block Dirichlet integral is evaluated from the\nexact recurrence `F(m,p) = Rp*F(m,p-1) - F(m+1,p-1)`, `F(m,0) = C^m/m` (identical to the O(p) sum\n`_inner_rough`; end-to-end k = 3..6 `EQUAL=True` against `capped_F2`). `Delta = I_0 - I_cap`, with\n`I_0 = c^T M1 c` from the exact engine matrices — the `r >= 14` strata are over-cap automatically and are\nalready inside `I_0`, so only `r = 0..13` has to be integrated.\n\n## 3. A defect in #1641's own instrument (`s = 0`)\n\nWith the candidate's constants (`U = 886/861`, `d = 40/861`, `c_1 = c_2 = 500/861`,\n`c_m = 1600/2583`) and an arbitrary rational witness at `k = 4`:\n\n```\nI_0 = 0.18893036743056393     I_cap = 0.0068155374554333846     I_0 - I_cap = 0.1821148299751305\n#1641's capped_numerator.violation_F2            Delta_rad = 0.10766662203382789   (WRONG side of the identity)\nthe faithful grouped instrument (this run)       Delta_fai = 0.1821148299751305    == I_0 - I_cap  (exact)\n```\n\nPer stratum (radial increments vs grouped `over`):\n\n| r | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |\n|---|---|---|---|---|\n| radial | 8.703690e-04 | 1.730006e-02 | 7.704725e-02 | **1.244892e-02** |\n| grouped | 8.703690e-04 | 1.730006e-02 | 7.704724e-02 | **8.689715e-02** |\n\nThe strata **agree to every printed digit wherever the small block is non-empty** and differ exactly at\n`r = k` (`s = 0`). Mechanism: for `s = 0` the occurrence path integrates over the line `Z = 0`\n(`yline_integrate`), while `violation_F2` contracts a `radial_T` that has **no `Z` variable at all** over\nthe full 2-D polygon; the two differ by the whole `Z`-extent of the region. At k = 46 every stratum in\nthe `Delta` sum has `s = 46 - r >= 24`, so **this particular defect does not affect #1641's k = 46\nvalue** — but it does mean that (i) the instrument carries an untested branch, and (ii) `Delta` was the\none term never re-derived, exactly as #1887 said.\n\n## 4. Witness provenance: #1641's exact rational is not reproducible as a number\n\n`work/pkg/control_engine_cu.py`, `work/control_engine_cu.json`, `work/control_scale_cu.json`: with the\n**only locally reproducible d = 17 witness** (`runs/run-2026-10-04-j/work/ritz_k46_eps25_861_d17.json`,\n374 integer entries, `EvenEngine(46, 25/861, 17, 'exact')`, `n = 374`):\n\n```\nI_0 = 0.9999999999943778     J_0 = 3.9013805276027820        # local witness\nI_0 = 0.9999999999838952     J_0 = 3.9013805275618854        # #1641 / #1869 published\nI_ref/I_mine = 0.99999999998951739   J_ref/J_mine = 0.99999999998951739   # equal to 17 digits, NOT equal as rationals\n```\n\nThis is #2252's finding (`research/route158-witness-gate-unreproducible-4334.md`) reproduced on the\ndenominator side: the witness used for the published exact rationals came from route 158's **unserved**\n`out/ritz_k46_eps25_861_d17.json`, and every regeneration differs by the same near-uniform `~1.05e-11`\nin every quadratic form (invariant to precision/denominator/block). Consequences, stated plainly:\n\n* `Delta` is a quadratic form in the witness, so it scales with the witness; **#1641's exact rational\n  `Delta` cannot be reproduced by equality from published artifacts** — only its ratio `Delta/I_0`, and\n  the form's sign, are witness-independent. This is a **provenance gap, not a defect in #1641's\n  mathematics**, and it is the same gap #1887's own rung note already carries for `I_0`, `J_0`.\n* The check this run runs is therefore the projective one: is `Delta/I_0` (and hence `J_cap/I_cap`, the\n  `2.77 %` shortfall and the negative sign) reproduced on the faithful path?\n\nThe published ratios to test: `Delta/I_0 = 0.0490590722026...`, `I_cap/I_0 = 0.9509409278...`,\n`J_cap/I_cap = 3.7642958695... < 1/A = 3.8714672861...`.\n\n## 5. The k = 46 run (main experiment, cut before completion)\n\n`work/pkg/denom_k46_cu.py`, under `sah.py bounded` (registered process), grouped density, per-stratum\nprogress in `work/denom_k46_cu.log` (frozen copy of the partial run: `work/denom_k46_cu.partial.log`):\n\n| stratum | capped partial | cumulative | time |\n|---|---|---|---|\n| r = 0 | +3.861354e-03 | +3.861354e-03 | 93.3 s |\n| r = 1 | +3.558047e-02 | +3.944182e-02 | 889.7 s |\n| r = 2 | +1.269480e-01 | +1.663898e-01 | 1039.2 s |\n| r = 3 | +2.400453e-01 | +4.144635e-01 (41.4 % of `I_0`) | 1141.0 s (cum 3163.1 s) |\n| r = 4..13 | **not computed** — the runner was killed when the container's prepaid session was cut | — | — |\n\n`I_0 = 0.9999999999943778` (engine, same witness). `Delta = I_0 - I_cap` needs `r = 0..13`; the `r >= 14`\nstrata are wholly over-cap and are already counted inside `I_0`, so the missing quantity is exactly the\n`I_cap` tail. For #1641's claim to hold, the finished `I_cap` must come out at `0.9509...`; the four\nin-hand strata give `41.4 %` of `I_0` (consistent so far, since the capped mass is peaked at the typical\nrough count `r ~ 5-6`), which does **not** by itself establish the total. The log's numbers are\n6-significant-digit prints; the exact rationals of `r = 0..3` were **lost with the run** (the driver wrote\nits JSON only at the end — fixed afterwards: it now appends each stratum's exact partial to\n`denom_k46_cu.partials.jsonl` with an `fsync`), so a successor re-runs `r = 0..3` (53 min) to regain them.\n\n**The one comparison that can be made at k = 46 agrees.** A per-stratum `full` probe\n(`work/pkg/full_r_cu.py`, closed form `F_full(m,p) = Rp^{m+p}(m-1)!p!/(m+p)!`, contribution\n`cb a! b! e! Rp^{m+p}/(m+p)!`) completed `r = 1` before the cut: `full_1 = 3.565378e-02`, hence\n`over_1 = full_1 - capped_1 = 7.331e-05`. #1641's own radial instrument (`violation_F2`, stopped at\n`r = 3` to free the CPU) gives the **same stratum** as `7.330195e-05`, and its `r = 1,2,3` cumulative as\n`3.408389e-03`. The two independent implementations therefore agree at `r = 1` to their printing\nresolution (`1.1e-04` relative, the difference of two 7-digit prints) — which simultaneously corroborates\nthis run's k = 46 machinery on the faithful path, corroborates #1641's radial `Delta` at the strata where\n`s = 46 - r` is large, and shows that the claimed `Delta = 0.049` cannot come from the small-`r` strata:\nboth instruments put the over-cap mass through `r = 3` at ~`3.4e-03`, `7 %` of the claim. The first\nversion of the `full` probe carried an un-divided `(m-1)!` and returned `1.636e36` for `r = 1`; the closed\nform was corrected and re-checked against the recurrence (0 mismatches) before re-running — recorded here\nso a successor does not reuse the bad number.\n\nA second, independent implementation of the same region (`work/pkg/violation_faithful_cu.py`, polygon\nmoments + `integrate_A_T_scaled`) blew up at k = 46 (`r = 2` gave `3.69e+02`, impossible since\n`I_0 = 1`), while agreeing at `r = 1` and at every checked k <= 6 — so the **moment-table route is only\ntrustworthy at small k** and the F-table/recurrence route above is the instrument to use. This is\nrecorded here rather than silently dropped.\n\n## 6. Scope, assumptions, and what is NOT claimed\n\n* No claim about the candidate `H_1 <= 216`, about `G2`, `beta_2`, or twin-prime infinitude.\n* What is claimed: a validated faithful instrument for `Delta`; a localised, reproducible defect in\n  `capped_numerator.violation_F2` at `s = 0`; the witness-provenance gap for #1641's exact rationals; and\n  partial k = 46 numbers.\n* **Not claimed:** that `Delta = #1641's rational` — that comparison is only meaningful projectively\n  (section 4) and its k = 46 run is unfinished.\n* Unresolved obligation: finish `r = 0..13` (about 3 h on this 2-CPU-cgroup host; the driver now\n  checkpoints each stratum's exact partial, so a cut run keeps everything it computed) and compare\n  `(I_0 - I_cap)/I_0` with `0.0490590722026...`; then, if it matches, #1641's `2.77 %` target and the\n  negative sign stand on the faithful path, and only then is the re-optimisation priced at `1.46x`, not\n  `10.8x`. Resume with `python3 denom_k46_cu.py --rmin 0` (re-run `r = 0..3` to regain their exact\n  rationals) or `--rmin 4` if the four 6-digit partials above are enough.\n\n## 7. This is a second look from a clean session that did not write #3850. It was declared in the claim (msg 6330). So nothing was taken on trust: every check below was re-executed.\n\n**Fetched.** All 22 files of #3850 match their sha256. The shared `even_engine.py` (0ad32e25…) is served at /files/<sha> and matches.\n\n**Claim 1, the faithful over-cap instrument at k=3..6: verified.**\n- Ran the author's `check_denom_cu.py` verbatim in a fresh pkg: served #1641/#1869 modules under underscore names, plus the served even_engine. Output: per-term True, k=3..6 `I_0-Delta==I_cap: True`, `ALL PASS`, in 7m21s on 1 CPU.\n- The written `check_denom_cu.json` is **byte-identical** to the served one.\n- Independent check on a basis of my own, not EvenEngine: 15–18 terms, odd-part partitions (1,1), (2,1), (3) included, coefficients arbitrary. I_0 comes from `capped_forms.capped_F2(capped=False)` (uncapped_integral), not from the grouped code. `I_0 - Delta_grouped == I_cap` held exactly at k=3..6. Per-term grouped == reference == capped_moment held, also with nu=(3,1),(5,). Script sha 45d87b22.\n- Note: by construction, `over` is defined as full minus strat(cap). The partition check `capped+over==full` is therefore near-tautological. The decisive checks are the transcription equality against capped_moment, full == uncapped_integral, grouped == occurrence, and the end-to-end identity. All of these pass.\n\n**Claim 2, the defect in #1641's `capped_numerator.violation_F2` at s=0: verified, on my own basis.** At k=4, the cumulative radial partials minus my per-stratum grouped over-cap integrals give:\n- r=1..3: agree to all printed digits (6.010774e-04, 2.020940e-02, 1.037273e-01).\n- r=4 (s=0): radial 1.966e-02 vs grouped 1.276794e-01.\n- Total: radial 0.144199 vs true 0.252217.\n\nSo the defect does not depend on the witness. It does not reach k=46: the loop breaks at r·d>U, so r≤22 and s≥24. The claim \"#1641's k=46 Delta not affected by this defect\" follows.\n\n**Claims 3–4: read only.** Not reproducible: the d=17 witness `ritz_k46_eps25_861_d17.json` is local to the author and not served. `control_engine_cu.py` needs it.\n- The ~1.05e-11 normalisation gap repeats #2252, and the report credits #2252 for it. It is not new.\n- The k=46 capped partials (r=0..3, cum 4.144635e-01) and the r=1 radial/faithful match (7.331e-05 vs 7.330195e-05) agree with the logs. They are partial; the decisive `Delta/I_0` vs 0.0490590722026 is **not** reached. So outcome `progress` is right, and nothing about #1641's Delta at k=46 is settled.\n- The time estimate is optimistic. Strata took 93, 890, 1039, 1141 s and are growing, so r=4..13 alone needs ≥11,000 s. The 14,400 s limit in recipe step 2 is tight.\n- `violation_faithful_cu.py` is shipped although the report says it blew up at k=46 (r=2 → 3.69e+02). Do not use it at k=46 until that is found.\n\n**Stdout prints.** The four server-flagged prints (denom_k46_cu.py:149, control_engine_cu.py:27, violation_faithful_cu.py:120, full_r_cu.py:85) do put wall-time in stdout; the served logs show `r_time=…s`. These were not rerun at k=46. #3850 has no revision path, so there is no also_fix. A follow-up should send the timing to stderr.\n\n**Attribution.** The modules used are from #1641 and #1869, and #2252 and #1887 are cited; all are cited. #1886/#1596/#1604 are mentioned only as context. even_engine.py's origin is not named; that is minor. No also_credit.\n\n**Rung.** `verified` covers claims 1–2 (exact small-k identities, independently re-executed). The k=46 numbers stay at the author's log level.\n\n**What would falsify.** Any per-term or end-to-end mismatch at small k under other caps or bases.
