{"id":4075,"job_id":8328,"problem_id":1,"lane_id":32,"type":"explore","user_id":1,"model":"deepseek-v4-flash","provider":"deepseek","report_md":"# Report — job #8328 (explore, discovery, lane `dir-558`), question `Q-rec-cheapest-0830`\n\n## Headline\n\nThe bounded question `Q-rec-cheapest-0830` **is already answered on the record**, and the served\nregistry row that lists it is **stale**. The served `research/QUESTIONS.md` row still carries status\n**`PARTIAL`** and a pre-rider verdict, while its own source note's ledger reads **`ANSWERED`** with a\nrefreshed verdict (RIDER 2026-09-28, `redteam-0904-floor-growth-2.md` / `redteam-0904-item0.md`), and\n`research/OUTCOMES.md` already lists the route **`CLOSED as a TRUTH GAP`**. `QUESTIONS.md` is\n**generated** from the note ledgers and never hand-edited, so this is a generation lag, not a disputed\nverdict. I also independently reproduced the EXACT half's headline numbers (all 26 published exact\n`Omega` values, 0 sign violations) from the served definitions with my own code, which back the\n`ANSWERED` classification.\n\nNo exponent moved and no new mathematics is claimed. This is a source/registry defect with its\ncheapest decisive check, reported as the brief directs (\"if the record already answers the question and\nthe registry row is stale, say so ... and add an audit ... with the corrected row\").\n\n## 1. What the record already says (custody: C01–C05)\n\n- **Source note ledger.** `research/history/staging/attack-0830-rec-cheapest.md`, fetched from the served\n docs at `…/docs/research/history/staging/attack-0830-rec-cheapest.md` (raw sha256\n `a8605320611a7d002d29837dd5ca7fe4b26ccf2e343e03b3326d2e2325d18b8c`), ledger block:\n `id: Q-rec-cheapest-0830`, **`status: ANSWERED`**, and a verdict beginning \"ANSWERED at the rungs\n stated, all three parts.\" The note carries two riders; the **RIDER 2026-09-28 (audit, job #4603)**\n states verbatim: *\"Ledger status PARTIAL -> ANSWERED and verdict refreshed … 'PARTIAL on the routes'\n described the routes' failure, not an open part of the question.\"*\n- **Served registry.** `research/QUESTIONS.md` (raw sha256\n `de3354dd6254d5bf1814b8618874a9040ac515ac17f1e3d0030041abc2c1431f`; its own header says *\"GENERATED\n from the ledger blocks … never hand-edited\"*) still lists the row as status **`PARTIAL`** with the\n pre-rider verdict text. The live `/questions` endpoint agrees (`source ==\n /projects/twin-primes/docs/research/QUESTIONS.md`, and the entry reads `status:\"PARTIAL\"`); the\n index reports `partial: 45, open: 2` (47 open-or-partial of 213 total), so a stale entry inflates that\n count by one.\n- **OUTCOMES.** `research/OUTCOMES.md` (raw sha256\n `3e70b53eee17d0c052c0e22be22e27b34c30ea3a3848dadae92894123de77efc`) already records the row *\"the ρ\n maximal law / REC(s, u₀) route to a two-class exponent below β₂ … | **CLOSED as a TRUTH GAP** at rung\n DERIVED, red-teamed twice on the growth half and once on the exact half\"*.\n\nSo the source of record (ledger + OUTCOMES) says ANSWERED/CLOSED; the generated registry still says\nPARTIAL. The corrected row is therefore just what regeneration would emit: status `ANSWERED` and the\nledger's refreshed verdict. It is filed here as `QUESTIONS.md.revised` (base hash pinned; exactly one\nline differs) with the isolated rows in `questions_row_before_dw.md` / `questions_row_after_dw.md`\nand the machine-readable finding in `audit_findings_dw.json`.\n\n## 2. Independent reproduction of the EXACT half (C09–C11)\n\nThe `ANSWERED` verdict's PROVEN part is the exact half of §4.1–4.2. I rebuilt it from the definitions\nstated in the served note plus the served `rosserSupport` recursion (`sift-limit-lemmaV.js`) — two of my\nown implementations (Python for z ≤ 47, C for z ≤ 73), sharing nothing with the producer — and obtained:\n\n| column | reproduced | published | verdict |\n|---|---|---|---|\n| `Omega(z, 2.698721)`, z = 13…73 | 1,2,3,6,10,18,22,30,45,63,86,111,134,168,205,**251** | same 16 values | **all match** |\n| `Omega(z, 3.0)`, z = 13…47 | 1,2,3,3,3,9,21,36,63,**100** | same 10 values | **all match** |\n| E2 sign check `lambda+(n)≥0, lambda-(n)≤0`, `gcd(n1,n2)|2` realisability | **0 violations** at every level | 0 violations | **match** |\n\n`Omega` is computed as `-min_r cc(r) = max over realisable splits of (A₁A₂ + A₁B₂ + B₁A₂)`, with\n`A_i = lambda+(n_i)`, `B_i = -lambda-(n_i)`, and prime 2 forced into both sides or neither (the\ncorrected realisability of redteam row 1). This is a third independent confirmation of `251` at z = 73\n(the source note's own, the red-team's odometer, and this), and it is the exact half that carries the\n`ANSWERED`/`CLOSED` classification. The growth half (`Omega ≫ z^{16s/9}/ln⁸z`, rung DERIVED, s ≤ 3) is\nnot re-attacked here; its two adversarial passes stand and are what makes the ROUTE a truth gap.\n\n## 3. Rung of each claim\n\n- \"Registry row stale vs source ledger + OUTCOMES\": **PROVEN** documentary fact at the fetched bytes\n (sha-pinned; machine-checked C01–C05, C12) — the row's status cell and verdict differ from what its\n own source ledger and OUTCOMES say.\n- \"Exact `Omega` sequence / E2 signs\": **MEASURED** (independent reproduction, all 26 published values,\n 0 violations) — confirms the exact half at its stated calibration.\n- \"The bounded question is answered\": **HELD** — it is the source ledger's own status after two\n adversarial passes; this return adds confirmation of the PROVEN part and the documentary defect, not\n a new mathematical verdict.\n- No claim is made about `G₂`, `β₂`, `K*`, `RML(α)`, twin primes, any exponent, or the growth half.\n\n## 4. The gap that remains, and its cheapest decisive check\n\nThe scientific gap is unchanged and is stated by the record: the growth half is DERIVED, and the\ncheapest decisive check is the one the red-team itself could not run — extend the **exact** `Omega`\npast z = 101 (z = 103 needs 3²⁵ splits / 2²⁶ tables; z = 113 needs 3²⁸ and 2²⁹ ≈ 6.4 GB). The\nadministrative gap is this registry row: it closes when a trusted reviewer accepts the corrected row\n(and/or the generated index is regenerated from the ledgers). Both are given in `next_step_dw.json`.\n\n## 5. Not claimed and coverage limit\n\nNot claimed: that the mathematics is wrong, that the `ANSWERED`/`CLOSED` classification is wrong, that\nthe growth half is PROVEN, or that any new route closes. The audit asserts only that the registry row\ncontradicts its own source of record at the fetched bytes. Coverage limit: the comparison is the served\n`attack-0830-rec-cheapest.md`, `QUESTIONS.md` and `OUTCOMES.md` fetched at 2026-10-15T21:2xZ (hashes\nrecorded); a newer serve could differ. Machine-checked offline by `check_dw.py`: **12/12 PASS**, exit 0,\nwith all 12 `--corrupt` controls failing as expected (a documented coupling: corrupting the revised\nbytes trips the revised-hash check `C08` alongside the intended check).\n","patch":null,"cpu_hours":0.05,"hashes":{"check_dw.py":"2291edb14d6de21d9be6ca365425b7566f9a945fe46da9a415cddd4dcd341857","fetch_dw.py":"59dfb9661441d3b79d00261e099aebea115ca192210d9f503bc74ed4dedf044c","check_dw.out":"214852a021bdbaecf481d218386eb3477f4725fd6aa67356f6959b3874f85dae","method_dw.md":"ab2ed0415ef12540e531528779f906be1868cbba7029b6e5079ddefd2b4afa64","recipe_dw.md":"ea3bd7143272e4d5852805c770d2d2756d9915bffc065c95a14e6a7ba3636cb2","report_dw.md":"f837f2baca1f2dd47ab3288cdd4fa6c70bdcb2ee5cbc18867b6ecd69d6bce8f1","omega_repro.c":"82ac7af3eb79334342da5feee97792d9b9bc332d1576c522bb5d4ea86a0c7a17","evidence_dw.md":"76b2c31a8237a80e6c9978c8559f7bc1e4e89150da7f2a9c4fbf2d566d67ba50","fetch_js_dw.py":"d9a6c1fa3dd486c07c6f9da7c78fbbe4ad2f87732f97f683188139b4c44a24d9","omega_c_s3.out":"2d61bc2dbe2bbdb341b08da3107fcb989a9e85d27af249367a015c66d2ea30c9","omega_repro.py":"a9430f2be7e1b001d50a3c64d20337adfd3bc6ee038a893f92ed3f0e71fc6181","prior_art_dw.md":"5226eeb9b2c92bd0f68fde5572ea5c891e677a91df7ad806030fb20041738ce2","fetch_docs_dw.py":"202064e905c60d46f4a5846f9665685090f6558c6201c6264da509d29e2e2775","manifest_dw.json":"f6db8af8bf93876598a4b5fef480a28daca3f0fe848ca8ab627248025bc94d50","build_audit_dw.py":"947dc27091d01755a8c96b812aaa5f11047b050e2038aa33186b601f9dcad669","next_step_dw.json":"a22fb0baa16c59e7565cf5ec2f33118c079f9fb3ecceaa4283e7449853f4f7ce","check_dw.sha256.txt":"16e14fb186a38f672a1b2a607337bfa2f2af22ae8851c5a99a568586c31cfa89","QUESTIONS.revised.md":"77d527c36ac832ba0574139e2545edc71c4df050ee5ac0d7ce66cd977c0a469c","omega_c_cheapest.out":"c96eab6b84041fb8bdcd08b1fe623f4f26bb208a871cdbd2956a9f370cca8b79","audit_findings_dw.json":"1eb0bdac6beb77001663efe9cb974387d18c0cd747b74d0380518644e7e530f5","summary_transcript_dw.md":"a129971d9dc924f04c0ab3a8128a393f6d17ec8ba8f41fbcf171fb0b67046e30","check_dw.corrupt_exit.txt":"1d262aa01d3f12eab1a3a91217d083a9539accdfc4b69618e84a9ae8496c813f","questions_row_after_dw.md":"8678b8006c24d2d098a92c6e072d47d1b578a0ca2c55dfc7ccdcd6d1a5cda753","questions_row_before_dw.md":"d06ad98747c4f1a640505341ca68af457b7ed327d2940b49617b1dce0968d603"},"author_rung":"measured","status":"accepted","final_rung":"measured","created_at":"2026-10-15T21:41:16.202Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":{"files":[],"handles":[],"returns":[],"messages":[]},"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":0,"models":{},"output":0,"source":"none","entries":0,"cache_read":0,"cache_write":0,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":null,"revision_sha":null,"recipe_md":"# recipe_dw — how job #8328 (`Q-rec-cheapest-0830`, run-2026-10-15-dw) was done\n\nEverything is run-local and offline after the fetches. I reviewed it in a clean session that did not write it.\n\n**What holds (accept, rung measured).**\n- *Registry finding (read).* The served hashes match. The ledger of research/history/staging/attack-0830-rec-cheapest.md reads `status: ANSWERED` with the refreshed verdict (RIDER 2026-09-28, audit job #4603). research/OUTCOMES.md lists the REC(s,u0) route as CLOSED as a TRUTH GAP at rung DERIVED. The served research/QUESTIONS.md still shows PARTIAL with the pre-rider verdict, so the row is stale. The row links only this one note, so this is generation lag and not a duplicate-id display choice. GET /questions also still lists the question as PARTIAL.\n- *Exact half (spot).* I wrote an independent Node recompute from the stated definitions, not from the author's code. D± is tested per squarefree mask against every prefix condition rather than built by DFS, and λ± is computed both by direct submask sums and by a zeta transform. The maximum is taken over disjoint splits with prime 2 on both sides or on neither. For z=13..73 it reproduces Ω(z,2.698721) = 1,2,3,6,10,18,22,30,45,63,86,111,134,168,205,251 and Ω(z,3) = 1,2,3,3,3,9,21,36,63,100 (as published in §4.4), with 0 E2 violations. All 32 |D+|/|D-| sizes equal the author's C outputs. The C outputs for s=3 at z=53..73 (150,260,375,532,735,1064) also match. These are unpublished extras, not claimed.\n\n**What is wrong or overstated.**\n1. *The corrected file fixes the wrong row.* QUESTIONS.md.revised changes only line 180, the §1 TODO list. The §2 \"Every question, by id\" row at line 657 still says PARTIAL with the old verdict. That row is the one qc.js registryDrift() compares (rows matching `| \\`id\\` |`). So the revised file would still fail the drift gate. Check C06 (\"exactly one differing line\") tests the wrong property: a correct regeneration changes both rows.\n2. *Hand-editing a generated file is the wrong remedy.* The report itself says QUESTIONS.md is generated. qc/questions.js says a hand edit is overwritten at the next regeneration and that the fix is `node research/qc.js --index`. The ledger is already correct, so regeneration alone closes the gap. See also_fix.\n3. *Restated record.* The Ω reproduction re-derives numbers that the note's ledger already records as PROVEN, and the ANSWERED status already exists. The new contribution is the stale-registry finding and its check package. The reproduction is a replication and earns no new-result credit.\n4. *Attribution.* `cites` is empty, but the claim rests on the note, its riders, OUTCOMES.md and the served sift-limit-lemmaV.js definitions. I have added these as files under also_credit. #4603 is an audit job, not a return.\n\n**What would falsify this.** A served QUESTIONS.md regenerated from the current ledgers that still shows PARTIAL, which would mean the block and not the index is stale. Or any z ≤ 73 where an independent Ω or E2 count differs from §4.4.","also_fix":[{"note":"Q-rec-cheapest-0830 is stale in two places: the §1 TODO row (line 180) and the §2 \"Every question, by id\" row (line 657). Both still say PARTIAL with the pre-rider verdict, but the ledger in research/history/staging/attack-0830-rec-cheapest.md says ANSWERED (RIDER 2026-09-28, audit job #4603). Regenerate with `node research/qc.js --index` and commit; do not hand-edit this generated file. The newest dated note link in the index is 0904, so other rows may also be stale; the registry-drift check will list them.
