It appears that way in three places: the ledger block of `research/history/staging/xchan-at29-prereg.md` (lines 3-9), `research/QUESTIONS.md` line 810, and `GET /questions`.\n\n**Rungs used below.**\n\n- **VERIFIED:** a check that ran and matched, with its range stated.\n- **MEASURED:** a figure from an embedded OUTPUT block. It is not re-run here.\n- **REGISTER FACT:** what a served document says, at the quoted line, in snapshot `main` fetched 2026-09-11.\n\nNo new measurement was made. `cpu_hours` = 0.\n\n## Caveats first\n\n- **Mechanism.** This return moves nothing about why the X-channel constant behaves as it does. The @37 departure is unexplained, and β(37), the @37 line ensemble, is still the missing instrument (`xchan-at37-score.md` §6; `redteam-at37-score.md` \"Not reached\").\n- **What the @37 kill rests on.**\n - one census run: `research/xchan-at37-01-census.js`, embedded 2026-08-21, 21354.0 s;\n - an independent recount over the contiguous prefix [0, 3e10), 0.404% of the period, plus the full @23 gate: `research/xchan-at37-02-verify.js`;\n - one adversarial pass: `redteam-at37-score.md`.\n - Not excluded: a position-dependent defect that turns on only past 3e10 (red team §(b)). I found no mechanism for one either. I did not re-run anything.\n- **The size of the z.** z = −122.2 is not a sampling surprise. `xchan-at37-score.md` §3 cites `attack-sigma31`: a level-scale arithmetic term of 82 σ_slot at @31, invisible to within-level controls. The sealed kill rule |z| > 3 is what decides. The magnitude is not a significance statement.\n- **Staleness is dated.** Every staleness claim refers to snapshot `main` as served on 2026-09-11. A later commit may already carry the fix.\n- **Absence claims are grep-based,** with the patterns listed in the recipe.\n- **Conflict of interest.** My person owns the repo. This session also returned #50, the reproduction of `xchan-at29-01-segmented.js` that finding 1 cites.\n\n## What I did\n\n1. Read the router `research/README.md`, then `research/QUESTIONS.md`: item X rows 217-223 and 810-816.\n2. Read the documents on the item X ledger line (TODO.md line 169), in the order of the question chain:\n - `xchan-at29-prereg.md`\n - `xchan-at29.md`\n - `xchan-at37-offset-prereg.md`\n - `xchan-at37-score.md`\n - `redteam-at37-score.md`\n - `item-x-offset.md` (ledger block)\n - `TODO.md` item X\n - `G2-STATE.md` lines 168-179\n - `OUTCOMES.md`'s Closed routes table\n3. Checked each status and verdict line against the embedded OUTPUT blocks of `xchan-at29-01-segmented.js` and `xchan-at37-01-census.js`.\n4. Recomputed the @37 scores and the (1−J)/F ladder ratio from the embedded integers. Arithmetic only; see the recipe.\n5. Tried to break the standing OPEN verdict, and then the register text downstream of it.\n\n## Findings, each with its rung and what would falsify it\n\n### F1. `Q-xchan-at29-prereg`'s OPEN status is stale\n\n**Rung:** VERIFIED against the served record, plus return #50.\n\n- **The answer exists.** The question it poses was scored in `research/history/staging/xchan-at29.md` §5, under a different ledger id, `Q-xchannel-closedform`.\n - Registered TEST 1: z = −0.90, HIT. On the slot-clustered σ: z = −0.43.\n - TEST 2: d = −0.41%, TIGHT.\n - Prereg §3's combined table then gives HIT at @29.\n- **The producer was re-run exactly.** `research/xchan-at29-01-segmented.js` is embedded (out-sha256 d2e5a1b6…). Return #50 re-ran it unmodified: normalised stdout equals the embedded out-sha256, and 0 of 295 values differ.\n- **Why it was left OPEN.** `research/qc/questions.js` (header) makes status per question id. The scoring note used a different id, so nothing updated the prereg's block.\n- **Falsifier.** A served ledger rule saying a prereg id must stay OPEN after scoring. None is in `questions.js`'s header, which lists OPEN | PARTIAL | ANSWERED | CLOSED | SUPERSEDED with status \"belongs to the QUESTION\".\n\n### F2. `research/G2-STATE.md` lines 168-179 do not reflect @37\n\n**Rung:** REGISTER FACT. The @37 figures are MEASURED, and their arithmetic is VERIFIED here.\n\n- **What the entry says.** Lines 168-171: \"The joint deficit's closed form `1 − J = 4·Σ_{x<q≤√W} q⁻²` is the last law standing after two pre-registered rivals died at 2.99σ and 9.80σ; @29 is a hit …; and it is not exact, a −0.41% to −0.48% offset, the same residual at both new levels.\"\n- **What is missing.** No line of `G2-STATE.md` mentions @37 for the X-channel. The recipe's grep finds no X-channel hit.\n- **What @37 recorded.** The sealed @37 prereg (`xchan-at37-offset-prereg.md` §2-§3; candidate N1 = `4S₂`, kill rule |z| > 3 on the run's σ_slot) was scored in `xchan-at37-score.md` §1 on 2026-08-21.\n - Measured 1 − J = 0.020823 (census OUTPUT: obs 60388809837, CRT 61673023269.22).\n - N1 predicted 4S₂ = 0.021863 (census CUSTODY line).\n - **z(N1) = −122.2, d = −4.76%.** All seven registered candidates are killed; the survivor set is empty.\n - `redteam-at37-score.md` (ledger `Q-redteam-at37-score`, ANSWERED): \"The empty-survivor scoring holds\".\n- **Recomputed here.** 1 − J = 0.020822936; σ_reg = 3.9846e−6; σ_slot = σ_reg × 2.136 = 8.5111e−6. The seven z's are −122.2, −113.0, −103.9, −110.0, −108.2, −111.3, −111.5, equal to the printed digit. d(N1) = −4.757%.\n- **Consequence.** As written, \"last law standing … a −0.41% to −0.48% offset\" is superseded. Under the @37 rule the closed form is REFUTED as a sharp law at @37. What remains MEASURED is a scale description, 1 − J within 5% of 4S₂ at @29, @31 and @37. Under the @29 prereg's own TEST 2 bands, @37's |d| = 4.76% would read DRIFTING. The @37 prereg's rule is the registered one at that level.\n- **Rival wording (same entry).** \"died at 2.99σ and 9.80σ\" are the slot-clustered |z| of N2 and N3 at @31 (return #50, verbatim). But `xchan-at29-prereg.md` §4 line 158 registered \"N2 stays inseparable at @31 and is not tested\". And |z| = 2.99 sits inside TEST 1's HIT band (§3, line 100). On the registered σ, N2 reads 6.35σ. N3 is outside at either σ.\n- **Falsifier.** A served statement in `G2-STATE.md` of the @37 result elsewhere, or a later scoring note that reverses `xchan-at37-score.md`. Neither was found in snapshot `main`.\n\n### F3. Two ledger verdicts on item X predate @37\n\n**Rung:** REGISTER FACT.\n\n- **`Q-xchannel-closedform`** (`xchan-at29.md` line 8, PARTIAL): \"1 - J = 4S2 is the only one of the three pre-registered laws left standing …, with the two rivals dying at 6.35 and 20.81 sigma\".\n - \"Left standing\" is superseded by @37 (F2).\n - \"Dying\" for N2 has the §4 line 158 issue described in F2.\n- **`Q-xchannel-offset`** (`item-x-offset.md` line 8, PARTIAL): \"… and the deciding blind test at @37 is pre-registered and committed alone.\"\n - That test has run.\n - C1 = `4S₂ − S₃`, the note's \"best available description\", is killed at z = −113.0.\n\n### F4. `xchan-at37-score.md` still carries the two red-team findings\n\n**Rung:** REGISTER FACT, with the arithmetic VERIFIED here.\n\n- **The ratio.** Verdict item 5 (lines 64-67) and §3 bullet 1 (lines 220-222) say \"the one-level drop is 4× the size of the prior two-level climb\".\n - The ladder 3.8242 → 3.8427 → 3.6907 gives a climb of 0.0185, a drop of 0.1520, and a ratio of **8.22**.\n - The red team §(c) gives 8.2× (7.6-8.9 over rounding). The correction understates nothing: the reversal is larger than the note says.\n- **The cofactor sentence.** §3 lines 208-216 offer the cofactor-one surplus as \"a mechanism with the right sign, growth and provenance\". Red team §(d) computed its aggregate weight and found it declining: 2.041e−2 → 1.873e−2 from @31 to @37. That is the wrong direction for the bend. The sentence is unamended in the served file.\n- **The gate scope.** Red team §(a) notes that the \"Gate PASS\" sentence (line 95) should carry its @23-only scope. It found this moot, because all five levels passed in the red-team run.\n\n### F5. `xchan-at29.md` quotes pre-embed memory and timing figures\n\n**Rung:** REGISTER FACT against MEASURED embedded output.\n\n- **Memory.** Lines 34, 126, 167 and 327 say \"62.0 MB of arrays\". The embedded run prints \"MEMORY: 118.0 MB of arrays\". The script's own READINGS R1 says the figure was \"printed as 62.0 until the 2026-08-21 bytes-formula repair; the arrays were 118.0 MB all along\".\n- **Timings.** The note quotes @29 as 15.07 s and @31 as 596.78 s (lines 36, 159-160). The embedded block prints level times of 13.17 s and 436.29 s (census 12.84 s and 427.96 s).\n- **Why it matters.** The note's own header says \"Every figure below is from that file's OUTPUT block\". These figures are from an earlier run.\n- **Scope.** None of this touches a count or a score.\n\n### F6. The Closed routes table has no row for the @37 refutation\n\n**Rung:** REGISTER FACT (grep-based absence).\n\n- **Searches.** `research/OUTCOMES.md` has no row for `4S₂` as the exact X-channel constant, and none for the finite-level offset-correction family. The patterns were \"3.8 law\", \"offset-correction\", \"finite-level\", \"Q-xchan\", \"X.channel\", \"asymptote\", \"natal-cap-39\", \"super-W\".\n- **The nearest row** (line 2811) closes a different attempt, \"the Chen–Stein route to the 3.8 and the extinction constants, and the super-W decomposition of the deficit\", dated 2026-08-19.\n- **The register rule.** `CLAUDE.md` asks that newly closed routes be added to that table.\n\n### F7. TODO item X is already post-@37\n\n**Rung:** REGISTER FACT.\n\n`TODO.md` lines 162-169 ask for \"a new offset mechanism and a falsifier after reading the cofactor-convolution and rejected-candidate records\", with \"The beta(37) ensemble is a conditional compute decision\". So the TODO side is consistent with @37. The lag is in `G2-STATE.md`, the three ledger blocks, and the uncorrected staging figures.\n\n## Proposed text (not applied; for the owner or an audit return)\n\n**Ledger block, `xchan-at29-prereg.md`:**\n\n```\n<!-- ledger\nid: Q-xchan-at29-prereg\nstatus: ANSWERED\ntodo: X\nquestion: Does the joint-deficit closed form survive a blind test at @29?\nverdict: Yes at @29 as registered: scored in xchan-at29.md, TEST 1 z = -0.90 HIT (-0.43 on the slot-clustered sigma) and TEST 2 d = -0.41% TIGHT, producer xchan-at29-01-segmented.js embedded and reproduced; the same closed form was later killed as a sharp law at @37 (xchan-at37-score.md, z = -122.2 on sigma_slot, d = -4.76%).\n-->\n```\n\n**Ledger verdict, `Q-xchannel-closedform` (`xchan-at29.md`):**\n\n> 1 - J = 4S2 hit its first blind level (@29, z = -0.90) and read -0.48% at @31 (z = -4.93 registered, -2.32 slot-clustered); N3 is refuted at @31 (20.81 / 9.80 sigma) and N2 was registered as not tested there (z = -6.35 / -2.99); at @37 the closed form is killed as a sharp law (xchan-at37-score.md, z = -122.2 on sigma_slot, d = -4.76%) and stands only as a scale description within 5% at three levels.\n\n**Ledger verdict, `Q-xchannel-offset` (`item-x-offset.md`):**\n\n> The @37 blind test ran: every registered correction, C1 = 4S2 - S3 included, is killed at |z| = 104 to 122 (xchan-at37-score.md, upheld by redteam-at37-score.md); the residual grew about nine-fold to 1.04e-3 (13.4 S3), no finite-level correction with a shrinking or constant scale fits @29, @31 and @37, and the mechanism is OPEN with beta(37) the missing instrument.\n\n**`G2-STATE.md` lines 168-179, a replacement that keeps the entry's calibration style:**\n\n> - The joint deficit's closed form `1 − J = 4·Σ_{x<q≤√W} q⁻²` is **REFUTED as a sharp law at @37** under its sealed rule: measured `1 − J = 0.020823` against `0.021863`, z = −122.2 on the slot-clustered σ, d = −4.76%, with an independent prefix recount agreeing on 17 of 17 fields and the scoring upheld by an adversarial pass. Before that it hit @29 (`z = −0.90` registered, `−0.43` slot-clustered) and read −0.48% at @31 (`z = −4.93` / `−2.32`), where N3 died (20.81σ / 9.80σ) and N2 was registered as not tested. It stands only as a scale description, `1 − J` within 5% of `4S₂` at @29, @31 and @37 [MEASURED, three levels], and the `(1−J)/F` ladder turns down (3.8242, 3.8427, 3.6907).
