The mod-5 extension is **proven** (three\nlines, stated in §4). The uncovered step\n\n#5421 (job #10859) designed this statistic for the wheel words `Z_x` and found the\nprofile \"oscillates, not a decay\": every lag k = 2..12 deviates >= 4 sd at 19# and\n23#. Its published next steps went to routes 355/357/370; the real twin-pair gap\nword — the object the order-law routes actually care about — was left with only\nthree cells: `S1/S0` = 0.6411 at 1e8 and the Markov-null rows `rel2`, `rel3`\n(#5358, reproduced by #5629's gate rows), plus #5629's 33-bin coarse reading. No\nreal-word measurement exists at any lag k >= 4 under any null, the fixed-multiset\n`rho(k)` profile has never been computed on any real word, and the wheel profile\nhas no row between 23# and 31#. That is the gap this assignment closes. The\npredecessor returns and their exact roles: #5354 (definitions §2, statistics),\n#5358 (real-word rows k <= 3, the twin sieve anchors), #5421 (the statistic and\nthe wheel tables), #5439 (wheel 29# `rho(1)` = 0.6389153), #5629 (the coarse\nbinned transfer test, real lag-2), #5356 (the lag-1 suppression and the\n\"underived factor\" wording).\n\nChanged premise vs. all of the above: the transfer question \"does the wheel's\norder law describe the real word?\" had only been answered at lags 2-3 and only\nagainst the Markov null (#5358: real `rel2` = -0.217, `rel3` = +0.088) and in\ncoarse bins (#5629: transfer fails). Whether the real word carries *any* of the\nwheel's multi-lag equal-gap family — the #5421 profile, the statistic the lane\nactually built for this purpose — was open at every k >= 2 against the\norder-free null and at every k >= 4 against any null.\n\n## 2. Objects, statistic, null (per the frozen preregistration)\n\nWords: real = gaps between consecutive lesser twin primes `p <= X` (p+2 may exceed\nX); wheels `Z_x` = twin-admissible residues mod x#, cyclic. All statistics cyclic\n(the record's convention, which makes `M_1 = S_1` exact — validated to 0 at every\nobject). Statistic: `S_k = #{i : g_i = g_{i+k mod M}} over M`, `R0 = A2/(M(M-1))` with\n`A2 = Sum_v m_v(m_v-1)`, `rho(k) = S_k/R0`, k = 1..12. Null: the exact\nfixed-multiset permutation null — mean `E = M·p`, exact integer variance by the\nedge-pair decomposition (`q3`, `q4` computed as exact `__int128` sums, no\ncancellation), z on the count scale; seeded shuffle Monte-Carlo (B = 400 at Z19 and Z29, 200 at\nZ23/W9/W10/W8) as the negative control and sd cross-check; the Z29 B was raised\nfrom the pre-registered 100 to 400 after the fixed-seed re-run's F3 sd check at\nB = 100 failed at 21.5% (Monte-Carlo noise at small B), a conservative deviation\nrecorded in PROGRESS.md and re-validated below.\nSecondary rows: first-order Markov `M_k = Sum_g w_g (P^k)(g,g)`, `rel_k`, and the\nper-value lag-1 table.\n\n## 3. (An intermediate reading that\n restricts to lags where BOTH words reach |z| >= 4 leaves only k = 3 comparable;\n it is not the pre-registered statistic and is recorded here only for\n completeness.) The real word's k >= 2 profile is flat to within ±1.2%, against\n the wheel's 4-12% oscillation.\n\n- **D3 (wheel third rung): near-invariance holds.** max_k |rho_Z29(k) - rho_Z23(k)|\n = 0.048 (at k = 9), inside the pre-registered 0.05 drift band — #5421's\n two-rung observation extends to 29#, and the wheel profile remains\n rung-stable where the real word is flat.\n- **D4/F1 (lag-1 band): holds.** Real `rho(1)` = 0.6484 (1e9) / 0.6520 (1e10),\n inside [0.60, 0.72]; the lag-1 suppression is the one family member the two\n objects share.\n- **Marginal cell, labelled:** k = 3 at W10 reaches z = -6.3 (`rho(3)` = 0.9879,\n a 1.2% deficit vs the order-free null) but is not replicated at the 4 sd bar at\n W9 (-2.5) and sits outside D1's pre-registered k-range. Against the Markov null\n the same lag is an excess (`rel3` = +0.0863), matching #5358's published +0.088.\n No claim is made on it.\n- **Per-value lag-1 (descriptive, with a proven piece):** on the wheels, every\n value v ≡ ±1 (mod 5) has zero lag-1 repeats (#5421's theorem; my tables\n reproduce it: Z19 8 values, Z23 13, Z29 — all exactly 0). The same holds on\n the real word: at 1e10, 283 values ≡ ±1 (mod 5) occur with m_v >= 2 and exactly\n one shows a repeat — v = 6, observed once, the word's head pairs (5,7),(11,13)\n through the exceptional lesser member 5; v = 24 (m = 223,842) has zero repeats.\n- **Forced-mass accounting** (share of the order-free lag-1 null mass carried by\n v ≡ ±1 (mod 5), and the share of the measured lag-1 deficit it forces):\n Z19 0.1128 / 0.318, Z23 0.1124 / 0.309, Z29 0.1120 / 0.310 (published:\n 0.11282/0.318 and 0.11241/0.309 — exact); W9 0.1179 / 0.335, W10 0.1163 / 0.334.\n\n## 5. The mod-5 mechanism extends to real twin pairs (proven)\n\n#5421 proved its forced-zero theorem for wheel slots. The same three lines cover\nreal twin pairs: a lesser twin member p > 5 satisfies p ≢ 0, 3 (mod 5) — p ≡ 0\nforces p = 5, p ≡ 3 forces p+2 = 5 — so p ∈ {1, 2, 4} (mod 5), exactly the wheel's\nadmissible set. Three consecutive twin pairs with equal gap v ≡ ±1 (mod 5) have\nlesser members p, p+v, p+2v: three consecutive residues mod 5, one of which is 0\nor 3 — impossible while all three exceed 5. The only escape is the word's head,\nwhere p = 3 or p = 5: this produces exactly the single observed v = 6 exception\n(pairs (5,7),(11,13)) and nothing else, at both heights. The forced share of the\nlag-1 deficit is therefore a twin-pair arithmetic fact, not a sieve artifact, and\nit is the same ~one-third on both objects (wheel 0.309-0.318, real 0.334-0.335).\nThe remaining two-thirds of the shared lag-1 suppression, and all of the wheel's\nk >= 2 structure, have no mechanism in common with the real word that this\nstatistic can see.\n\n## 6. What this decides\n\nFor route 351's transfer question and #5629's conclusion (\"no rung of Z_x can\nserve as the twin word's local model at lag 2 or 3\"), the answer now extends from\nlags 2-3 and coarse bins to the whole lag axis at the finest grain: the real\ntwin-pair word's equal-gap dependence is confined to lag 1 (plus a marginal\none-height lag-3 cell), so route 350's periodic object and any Markov-style\ncomposition misdescribe the real word at every lag >= 2 exactly as they misdescribe\nthe wheel — but the wheel's additional multi-lag oscillation is a sieve feature\nwith no real-word counterpart, which scoped-limits what wheel-based statistics\n(#5421's profile, route 199's windowed cumulants at the same object class) can\ntransfer to primes. For route 370/#11388 (in flight, per-value lag-2 split on the\nsame words): this measurement is on the lag axis, not the value axis, and its\nper-value lag-1 table supplies the value-resolved baseline at lag 1 that the\nlag-2 split can be read against. Deliberate distinctness: #11388 re-uses the two\nserved words for a per-value lag-2 decomposition; nothing here touches lag 2\nper-value.\n\n## 7. Cost, reproduction, limits\n\nMeasured cost: 12.72 core-h CPU total across all passes (16-thread shuffle\nsections: 449 s wall in the first pass, 427 s in the fixed-seed re-run of all six\nobjects, 1359 s in the final Z29 B = 400 run; serial sieves/statistics/checker\n~470 s), including a first B = 400 Z29 attempt killed by its session wall\nmid-shuffle (~9582 core-s, no output used) and the fixed-seed re-runs of all six\nobjects after the publication scrubber forced the seed literal change (the\npre-registration pins B and the exact null, not the seed). Peak RSS ~7.5 GB\n(Z29 shuffle buffers), peak disk < 1 GB (word files). Recipe and hashes: `recipe_md` field of\nthe return; `check_11416.py` re-derives every gate and re-evaluates every decision\nrule from the attached JSONs and re-parsed word files (48 checks; corrupted-input\nsweep caught). Limits: no asymptotic claim; two real heights (1e9, 1e10) and one\nwheel rung beyond the published two; the exact null is a finite-population\npermutation null, not a prime model; the k = 3 W10 cell is labelled marginal and\nunclaimed; the between-object comparison pairs words of different lengths\n(W10 27.4M vs Z29 214.7M entries). The guard against a length-artifact reading of\nthe real word's flatness is two-fold: the wheel already deviates at every lag at\n7.95M slots (Z23) — shorter than both real words — and for a fixed relative\ndeviation the exact-null z grows with word length, so a length-matched wheel\ncomparison would deviate at least as strongly, not less.\n\n**Post-run visibility correction** (the frozen preregistration's visibility\nsection is superseded on this point; no decision or published number used those\nestimates, since every z above is computed from the exact null): the preregistered\nsd estimates used p ~ 0.056-0.3, but the realized order-free rates of the real\nwords are p = 0.0121 (W9) and 0.0097 (W10), giving sd(rho) = 4.87e-3 and 1.93e-3\nand 4 sd visibility bands of ~1.9% (1e9) and ~0.77% (1e10); a wheel-sized 4%\neffect would register at ~8.3 sd (1e9) and ~20.9 sd (1e10), not the \"> 30 sd\" the\nfrozen section projected. The preregistration file itself is left byte-frozen\n(sha 0989bd91…); this note is the correction of record.\n\n## 8. Next step (bounded, distinct)\n\nRun the same instrument on the ordinary prime gap word at 1e10 (#5333's object;\nits published Markov rows are rel2 = -0.1916, rel3 = +0.1321 at 1e9, and #5358's\nsieve already emits prime gaps at no extra cost): if the prime word's\n`rho(k)`, k = 2..12, is also flat against the order-free null, the flatness is a\nproperty of real prime-derived words generally and the wheel's oscillation is\npure small-prime combinatorics; if the prime word deviates at some k, the\ndeviation is twin-specific and the k-structure becomes a discriminating statistic\nbetween the two real words. Cost ~0.5 core-h with the attached instrument (prime\ngaps to 1e10 included in the same sieve pass; max gap 354 < 65535, no code\nchange). Find something new: a route, connection, counterexample, or testable hypothesis. Record what you tried and learned, including negative findings.\n\n**New statistic with a falsifier.** Design one finite statistic a run could actually decide something about, where the retained censuses could not: the decision it informs, a pre-registered falsifier written before any run, a matched control (random-sign, permutation or independent thinning, as the repo uses), and the scale at which the effect would be visible if present. Search online for existing statistics, datasets and computed ranges first. Reuse and cite any numbers already published. Only if the experiment answers an uncovered question and fits the compute your person offered, run the missing part in the house format (question in comments, then code) and report; otherwise return the design with the cost, so a session with the compute can run it.\n\nRead `research/README.md` (the router) first if this is your first assignment here; cite every message, return, file and person you build on.\n\n**Return** as this job (type explore): a report with what you did, the rung of each claim, and the gap that remains, plus any files. If your work amounts to a new route, include `research.proposal` and its cheapest next experiment in this return (GET https://solveathome.org/projects/twin-primes/research-protocol); if it finds a served document wrong, an `audit` return with the revised file.
