{"id":6455,"job_id":12882,"problem_id":1,"lane_id":null,"type":"measure","user_id":103,"model":"claude-opus-5-5","provider":"anthropic","report_md":"# Route 364: exact c_L(41#) and the 37# -> 41# step of the wheel share\n\n## Result\n\nAt 41# (W = 304,250,263,527,210) the exact wheel share satisfies c_L(41#) < c_L(37#) for every tracked L in {11, 17, 23, 29, 35, 41}. The decrements run from -2.0013e-4 (L = 23) and -2.3658e-4 (L = 17) to -3.3062e-3 (L = 41). The order of rho_29 and rho_35 changes between 37# and 41#: rho_29 - rho_35 = +2.0117e-4 at 37# and -2.5458e-4 at 41#. Every comparison is between exact rationals built from 64-bit integer counts; no floating-point value enters a comparison. A 60-seed sampler, calibrated against exact 41# (|z| <= 1.27 for all six L), estimates the 41# -> 43# step with common random numbers: negative for L = 11, 29, 35, 41 at more than 100 se, negative for L = 17 at 3.9 se, unresolved for L = 23 at -1.6 se. All of this concerns the wheel statistic c_L(x#), not twin primes.\n\n## Method\n\n1. Calibration. The served `exact_cL_fast.c` (unmodified) was rebuilt with nix gcc 16.2.0 on an i9-14900KF and rerun at 5#..29#, 31# and 37# on 8 threads. All three served tables were reproduced field for field: every integer gaps_L, F_L, TB_L for every L, plus W, D, K, G2, span_check and the printed doubles. The only fields excluded were the run's `seconds` and `threads`. The identities sum (L+1) gaps_L = W, sum gaps_L = prod (p-2) and sum TB_L = W - 2 phi + D were recomputed from the tables and hold at all eleven rungs run (5# through 41#).\n2. Exact 41#: one run of the same binary, 3,641 s wall on 8 threads, 7.92 CPU-h, peak RSS 1.98 GB.\n3. Exact arithmetic: `analyze.py` forms rho_L = F_L / (gaps_L (L-5)/2) and c_L = (1 - rho_L) prod_{5<=p<=x} p/(p-1) as Python Fractions and compares those. The served code's doubles agree in sign with every exact step.\n4. Sampler estimate: the served `sampler_fast.c` was patched with four flags (seed range, seed count, threads, and a window-start range shared across rungs). With no flags the patched code reproduces the served `sampler_37.json` seed by seed. Seeds 1001..1060 ran at 41# and 43# over the same windows.\n\nThe calibration table with its commands, the 41# rationals and the compute ledger are in `files/RESULT.md`. `files/out/analysis.json` and `files/out/samp_analysis.json` hold every number.\n\n## Exact c_L at 41# and the step from 37#\n\n| L | c_L(37#) | c_L(41#) | Delta c_L(37# -> 41#) |\n|---:|---:|---:|---:|\n| 11 | 0.624723056814 | 0.623034616120 | -0.001688440694 |\n| 17 | 0.802268532134 | 0.802031948542 | -0.000236583591 |\n| 23 | 0.782108797074 | 0.781908665955 | -0.000200131119 |\n| 29 | 0.913938641682 | 0.911687747279 | -0.002250894402 |\n| 35 | 0.914389534964 | 0.911102879669 | -0.003286655294 |\n| 41 | 0.984075530503 | 0.980769350804 | -0.003306179698 |\n\nValues are 12-place floors of the exact rationals; the step column is truncated.\n\n## Findings on the served material\n\n- The recipe's `--ladder 29` is not a flag of `exact_cL_fast.c`. Unknown arguments are ignored, so it would run the default x = 31. `--x 5,7,11,13,17,19,23,29` reproduces the ladder table.\n- In `exact_cL_fast.c` the inner loop applies prime groups 0..4 only. The group {43} that it builds for x >= 43 is never applied, and W overflows 64 bits at 53#. The code as served is therefore not usable for exact rungs at or past 43#. This finding comes from reading the code; it was not run at those rungs.\n- At the served block size, 41# needs 1.98 GB (a 56-byte record per 2^22 odd positions), not the route's estimate of under 100 MB.\n- The #5592 prose values K_pred(37#) = 5,423,828,070,885 and prod_{5<=p<=37}(1-1/p) = 0.44617192 differ from its JSON (5,431,428,117,885 and 0.44616304). The JSON values pass the identities.\n\n## Not settled\n\nRungs past 41# are not settled: exact 43#, 47# and 53# were not run, and 41# -> 43# is a Monte Carlo estimate that does not resolve L = 23. The route's full chain criterion through 53# at se <= 2.5e-5 was not tested; the 60-seed se at 41# is 1.5e-5 to 3.0e-5. Exact decrease at four consecutive steps says nothing about a limit of c_L(x#).\n\n## Sources\n\n| Return | File | sha256 | Use |\n|---|---|---|---|\n| #5592 | `exact_cL_fast.c` | 8d5a8ab616bacbc575db2c8d9a93f21fef1ef3a48742acabccdb5a171c12d163 | exact evaluator, run unmodified |\n| #5592 | `sampler_fast.c` | cf672aff3ac46fa1ed2a070a84b47dc0cc1c645659ada611f7a9ba851736fef4 | base of `sampler_crn.c` |\n| #5592 | `exact_cL_5_to_29.json` | 8272fbe6a3a5460d321ede88f41ad7830120c67e953a6277718b8b9812618b77 | calibration target |\n| #5592 | `exact_cL_31.json` | 92959e1240559566729f34df830630ed15f73fece2983de844f4b1103e5947a6 | calibration target |\n| #5592 | `exact_cL_37.json` | 267325b22514546faac7d17c9fa13ad6136f67d37de163c944f26a988cdb0d69 | calibration target, and the 37# side of the comparison |\n| #5592 | `sampler_37.json` | 16dc019a7aa2ea88d1fae58ec702df411414ae2ff3a19bec7e525e6046ce8812 | check that the sampler patch leaves the default unchanged |\n| #5590 | (no files served) | | route origin: the definitions of rho_L and c_L and the next step |\n\n#5592's `report.md` was read in full.
