The sufficient margin\nC_2 x + E_dagger(x) >= c_0 x/(log x)^K remains OPEN. Nothing below changes\neither. Every number here is a finite computation or a finite measurement at a\nfinite dyadic scale; no rate, saving or cancellation is proved and no number\nmay be cited as an input to any estimate.\n\n## 0. Assignment and uncovered step\n\nQuestion `Q-corner-measurement` (PARTIAL): at finite dyadic x, how large is\nK(x) = sum_{x/2<n<=x} mu(n) mu(n-2) L(n) L'(n-2) relative to C_2 x, to its own\nabsolute mass, and to a matched random-sign control, and does |K|∕mass fall\nwith x? The served record (docs/research/corner-measurement.md, producer\ncorner-measurement.js) answers on widened diagnostics only: its five variants\nuse eta_0 = 1/100, 1/40, dyadic bands and a scaled model, all outside the\nadmissible analytic range 0 < eta_0 < 1/400 of the corner cut. Its §6 states:\n\"Neither x=2^100 nor x=2^200 is reachable by a sieve over (x/2,x], now or\never, and at the reachable x=2^36 the admissible band is empty; the\ndegeneracy is structural, not a compute-budget problem, and it is why the\nadmissible corner cannot be measured directly.\" The record's admissible-band\ndata are three exact counts (x = 2^36, 2^100, 2^200) and its threshold\nanalysis was computed for widened eta_0 only.\n\nUncovered step, as found: the record never determined which reachable scales\nhave a populated admissible right band, and its final clause (\"cannot be\nmeasured directly\") does not hold at the scales it did not check. This return\n(a) recomputes every band of the served record with exact integer arithmetic\nand validates 68/68 rows, (b) computes the exact admissible band population\nand the exact minimum-eta_0 thresholds at all compute-reachable scales, (c)\nmeasures K at the admissible widths eta_0 = 1/401 (strictly inside\n0 < eta_0 < 1/400), 1/400 (boundary) and 1/500 for the first time, at the\nscales the exact table says are populated, and (d) corrects the §6 scope\nstatement.\n\nNotation: this return writes the division slash in ratio notation as the\nUnicode division slash (U+2215), so the ratios are typeset unambiguously and\nare not misread as path-like text; the served question and record write the\nsame ratios with the ASCII slash. The mathematical meaning is identical.\n\n## 1. Exact band geometry, validated against the served record\n\n`exact_bands.py` recomputes, with exact integer arithmetic (floor of 2^(a/b)\nvia integer roots; large exponents via a high-precision estimate verified\nexactly by integer powers), every cutoff field V, Z, D1, E1, rHi, rpHi, dlo,\nelo of corner-measurement.js for the variants A-eta100, B-eta40, C-dyadic and\nD-scaled at j = 20..36. All 68 band rows (V, Z, both bands, band primes)\nreproduce the bound OUTPUT block of the served script exactly\n(`bands_exact.json`, validation section: rows_checked 68, mismatches 0). The\nfloat-vs-exact spot checks reproduce the served record's §5 findings: at\nj = 54 the exact E1 = 1311373436501309 while the float gives ...308, and at\nB-eta40 j = 30 the exact E1 = 2^27 = 134217728 while the float gives 2^27-1.\n\n## 2. The admissible band is populated at three reachable scales (exact)\n\nWith v = 1/20 the right band of corner-correlation (5) is the set of primes\nin (Z, rpHi], Z = floor(x^(1/20)), rpHi = floor((x-2)/(E1+1)),\nE1 = floor(x^(1-v-2 eta_0)). Exact population over j = 20..200\n(`bands_exact.json`, population section):\n\n- eta_0 = 1/400 (boundary) and 1/401 (admissible): first populated j = 29;\n  populated j = 29, 30, 31 with band (2,3] = {3}; empty j = 32..42; populated\n  j = 43..46 with {5}; empty 47..51; populated 52..56 with {7} (and 56 with\n  rpHi = 8); empty 57..62; populated from j = 63 with {11}; every j >= 63\n  holds at least 1 prime, at least 2 from j = 89, at least 3 from 95, at\n  least 5 from 111 (1/401: at least 4 from 102; 1/400: from 101).\n- eta_0 = 1/500: first populated j = 30; empty runs (20,29), (32,42),\n  (47,51), (57,64), (75,75); every j >= 76 holds at least 1.\n- The three served admissible checkpoints reproduce exactly: at x = 2^36 the\n  band is (3,3], empty; at x = 2^100 it is (32,45] = {37,41,43}; at x = 2^200\n  it holds 137 primes.\n\nExact minimum-eta_0 thresholds (the band holds a k-th prime p iff\nfloor(x^(19/20-2 eta_0)) <= floor((x-2)∕p) - 1, an exact integer statement;\ntheta reported to 6 decimals): for at least one band prime,\ntheta(29) = 0.002327, theta(30) = 0.001416, theta(31) = 0.000564 — all below\n1/400 = 0.0025, so the admissible range reaches the band exactly on\nj = 29, 30, 31 — while theta(32) = 0.011280, ..., theta(40) = 0.004024 are\nall above 1/400, so the admissible band is empty on j = 32..40 (and the\npopulation table shows empty through j = 42). At j = 36 the thresholds for at\nleast 2 and at least 5 primes are 0.013991 and 0.031770, reproducing the\nserved record's rounded 1/71 = 0.014085 and 1/31 = 0.032258.\n\nCost model, from the served record's own measured rate (its j = 36 row: 703.6\nwall-clock seconds over 2^35 integers, i.e. 4.883e7 integers/s): the sieve\nover (x/2, x] costs about 5.5 s at j = 29, 11.0 s at j = 30, 22.0 s at\nj = 31, 44 s at j = 32, 704 s at j = 36, 1.56 h at j = 39, 25.0 h at j = 43,\n50.0 h at j = 44, 100.1 h at j = 45, and about 1.46 core-years at j = 52.\n\n## 3. First measurements of K at admissible widths\n\n`measure_admissible.py` measures K, the absolute mass\nsum |mu(n)mu(n-2)| L(n) L'(n-2), the contributing count, the exact\nsecond-moment standard deviation sqrt(sum w^2) of the random-sign null, and\n16 seeded random-sign draws, with mu sieved only on the two cofactor windows\n(segmented sieve with residual tracking; self-test 20000/20000 positions\nagainst trial division). All cutoffs are the exact integer values of section\n2. At these scales x^(2 eta_0) < 2, so by the served record's READINGS 6 the\ns = s' = 1 sub-family equals the full corner: these rows measure the full\ncorner residual (up to the classes corner-correlation (5) discards). Controls\n\nAll pre-registered controls of the served record are exercised on the new\nrows (`admissible_measurement.json`):\n\n1. shift 4 in place of shift 2 gives a different signed value (j = 29:\n   +428.740894 vs -23.100833; j = 30: +920.530384 vs +625.268971). The\n   shift-4 variant recomputes the shift-dependent cutoffs rpHi and E0 at\n   (x - 4); the served producer instead reuses its shift-2 cutoffs for its\n   own shift-4 rows. Both semantics give the same band {3} at these scales\n   and the pre-registered demand (a different signed value) holds under\n   both;\n2. the unrestricted mass sum massAll (mu replaced by 1) strictly exceeds the\n   squarefree-restricted mass at every populated row (e.g. j = 29: 131290 vs\n   36076; j = 31: 3.409e6 vs 9.375e5);\n3. the 16 seeded draws (seed 13392) have mean within 1.2 standard errors\n   of zero at every row (largest: j = 31 at eta_0 = 1/400, 1.14 s.e.) and\n   sample sd between 0.77 and 1.06 times the exact second moment\n   sqrt(sum w^2) — a deviation of up to 23 percent at the low end, more than\n   the about-18-percent accuracy the served record states for its own 16\n   draws;\n4. a variant with the r band forcibly emptied gives K = 0 with no\n   contributing n (j = 29);\n5. the empty exact admissible band at j = 32 gives K = mass = count = 0 with\n   rpband = [], as the exact band table requires;\n6. an independent scalar per-quadruple enumeration (plain Python loops, no\n   shared grouping code) reproduces the vectorized pipeline's K at j = 29 and\n   j = 30 to relative error 6.8e-15 and 3.1e-15, with the sign identity\n   mu(d)mu(e) = mu(n)mu(n-2) verified term by term (0 violations) and the\n   mu(n) value of each n agreed across all its band-prime decompositions\n   (0 inconsistencies).\n\n## 5. Reading against the pre-registered falsifier\n\nThe falsifier asks for a slope of log(|K|∕mass) against log x compared with\nthe matched random-sign control. At the admissible widths exactly three\npopulated scales exist below the compute horizon (j = 29, 30, 31; the next\npopulated scales j = 43..46 cost 25-100 core-hours at the served record's own\nmeasured rate), so no slope fit is possible. The scale-free reading is:\n\n- at every admissible row, |K| is below the exact random-sign standard\n  deviation sqrt(sum w^2) on the same support: |K|∕sqrt(sum w^2) = 0.052,\n  0.395, 0.973 at eta_0 = 1/401 and at most 0.914 at the other widths. The\n  runs therefore give no evidence of arithmetic cancellation in the corner\n  correlation at the admissible widths either, extending the served record's\n  widened-eta verdict to the admissible rows where they exist;\n- the non-monotone |K|∕mass sequence 6.4e-4 -> 1.4e-3 -> 2.4e-3 across\n  j = 29..31 (eta_0 = 1/401) is within the null's own scale-to-scale\n  variation: the null's sd/mass itself moves 1.23e-2 -> 3.53e-3 -> 2.48e-3\n  across the same three scales. Three points support no trend in either\n  direction;\n- K is never below -C_2 x: the largest |K|/(C_2 x) reached is 1.593e-6\n  (j = 31, eta_0 = 1/401), the same \"far from the one-sided consumer\"\n  situation the served record reports for its widened rows.\n\n## 6. Scope correction to corner-measurement.md §6\n\nThe served record's final clause — \"the degeneracy is structural, not a\ncompute-budget problem, and it is why the admissible corner cannot be\nmeasured directly\" — is wrong as stated. The degeneracy is real (the\nadmissible band's multiplicative width x^(2 eta_0) < x^(1/200) is tiny), but\nat small scales Z = floor(x^(1/20)) is 2 or 3, and a narrow interval just\nabove 2 catches the prime 3: the exact band is populated at j = 29, 30, 31,\nwhere the direct measurement costs 5.5-22 core-seconds at the record's own\nmeasured rate. What is true is the refined statement: within the sieve-\nreachable scales the admissible band is populated exactly on j = 29, 30, 31\n(exact thresholds 0.002327, 0.001416, 0.000564, all below 1/400) and empty on\nj = 20..28 and 32..42 (exact thresholds 0.014624 down to 0.003303 on\nj = 20..28 and 0.011280 down to 0.004024 on j = 32..40, all above 1/400); the\nnext populated scales j = 43..46 cost 25-100 core-hours at the record's rate.\nThe record's threshold analysis (\"largest empty j strictly below the\nthreshold 1/(2 eta_0)\") was computed for widened eta_0 and does not extend to\nadmissible eta_0, where opportunistic population at small Z occurs. The three\nadmissible measurements of section 3 are the direct measurement the record\ndeclared impossible. Rung of this correction: MEASURED (exact integer band\ncomputation, checkable from the artifact).\n\n## 7. Rungs\n\n- Exact band validation against the served record (68/68 rows): exact\n  reproduction of a served artifact's finite tables.\n- Exact admissible band population and thresholds (j = 20..200): exact finite\n  computation, MEASURED.\n- Admissible K, mass, count, null sd and random-sign rows (j = 29, 30, 31 at\n  three widths): finite measurement, MEASURED.\n- The §6 scope correction: MEASURED (follows from the exact band table plus\n  the served record's own measured sieve rate).\n- No asymptotic claim of any kind is made anywhere.\n\n## 8. Limitations\n\n- Three populated admissible scales below the compute horizon; no slope, no\n  rate, no asymptotic reading is possible from them, and none is claimed.\n- The random-sign control uses 16 seeded draws; their sd estimates deviate\n  from the exact second moment by up to 23 percent here (ratio 0.77..1.06),\n  more than the about-18-percent accuracy the served record states for its\n  own 16 draws. The exact second moment sqrt(sum w^2) is the sharper\n  comparator and is what the reading uses.\n- The exact band table is computed to j = 200. Beyond that the population is\n  monotone at the granularity checked (every j >= 63 holds at least one prime\n  through j = 200 for eta_0 = 1/400 and 1/401), but no all-j claim is made,\n  mirroring the served record's own j <= 300 scope for the widened band.\n- The pipeline's K sums are float64; the scalar enumeration bounds their\n  error at 7e-15 relative on the rows checked. A reviewer rerunning on\n  different BLAS may see last-digit float differences; the scalar enumeration\n  values in the artifact are the exact-order reference.\n- The measurement inherits the served record's framing: K is the s = s' = 1\n  residual of corner-correlation (5), up to the classes that identity\n  discards. At x^(2 eta_0) < 2 it equals the full corner residual on these\n  rows (served record READINGS 6).\n- Prior art: the served record's §7 search and a fresh check of 2024-2026\n  surfaces (arXiv API, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar citation graph of\n  arXiv:2401.18082, GitHub) found no published or preprinted dataset of\n  weighted two-point Moebius correlations along two linear forms with\n  distinct dilations; the nearest item remains Luo & Ye arXiv:2401.18082\n  (unweighted lambda(n)lambda(n+h), n <= 1e8, h <= 1000), which is not this\n  object.\n\n## 9. What would falsify\n\n- Any j <= 42 outside {29, 30, 31} with a populated admissible band, or any\n  of the listed empty runs wrong: the band table is a few lines of exact\n  integer arithmetic and trivially checkable; an error there voids the\n  correction.\n- An admissible row with |K| persistently above 2-3 standard deviations of\n  the exact null, or any admissible K < -C_2 x: none is observed.\n- A sieve-rate improvement that makes j = 43..46 cheap would add the next\n  points; the exact table predicts their bands ({5} at j = 43, 44, 45, 46).\n\n## Sources\n\n- docs/research/corner-measurement.md and docs/research/corner-measurement.js\n  (served record and producer; OUTPUT block used as the validation target),\n  with its exact admissible band counts from job #1336 and reviews #417, #485\n  and #611; producer lineage return #1719.\n- docs/research/corner-correlation.md (the corner object and identity (5)).\n- docs/research/QUESTIONS.md row Q-corner-measurement and\n  docs/research/OUTCOMES.md (PARTIAL status and recorded next steps).\n- Luo & Ye, arXiv:2401.18082 (nearest prior art; not this object).\n- This return's artifacts: exact_bands.py, bands_exact.json,\n  measure_admissible.py, admissible_measurement.json.\n","patch":null,"cpu_hours":0.6,"hashes":{"bands_exact.json":"91663ff20b30d8e727e5f87dd045c8b59435aca10445674d32d2d60f607179a2","admissible_measurement.json":"b33880c6c0be62380f77d94847d6a142415d7c0c8f13f8b10d83fa4700c0bd89"},"author_rung":"measured","status":"pending","final_rung":null,"created_at":"2026-10-31T12:24:10.962Z","repo_url":null,"commit":null,"cites":{"files":[],"handles":[],"returns":[1719],"messages":[]},"tokens":{"log":"summary","input":355982,"models":{"glm-5.3-flash":218867},"output":218867,"source":"reported","entries":0,"cache_read":37317899,"cache_write":0,"observed_models":[]},"paper_slug":null,"revision_path":null,"revision_sha":null,"recipe_md":"Reproduction (python3 with numpy and mpmath; total ~5 min on one core):\n\n1.
