The doubling inequality itself remains not\nproven and not refuted; nothing here changes that, and nothing here is TPC-implying.**\n\n## The uncovered step, and what was done\n\nThe owning notes (`research/history/staging/attack-doubling-01.md`,\n`attack-0829n-doubling-bridge.md`, `redteam-0830-doubling.md`) leave exactly three things\nopen at the enumerable range: the sixteenth doubling step 19#→41#, recorded verbatim as\n\"not attempted\" (`redteam-0830-doubling.md` §4); the persistence at 29#+ of the two window\ninstruments (ground factor ρ, covering efficiency); and — the red team's own caveat — that\nboth prior engines shared the corpus ladder keepers, so \"an error inside the ladder itself\nwould not be caught\". I built two fresh engines sharing no corpus code (a C kernel,\nserial and threaded, and an independent numpy implementation), validated them against\nevery reproducible recorded figure, then walked the sixteenth step and re-derived the\nladder rows the fifteen C₂ chain rows rest on without reading the ladder.\n\n## Results, with rungs\n\n**1. The fifteen recorded K* certificates reproduce digit for digit. [verified]**\nK* = 2,1,4,2,3,3,5,8,6,10,8,10,17,13,13 across the fifteen walked steps, on the C kernel;\nthe numpy implementation agrees on thirteen steps; the (7,13) step was additionally\nenumerated slot-by-slot in numpy (K = 3). The 0829 table's derived columns (floor\nmaxsum_{N+1} over Ĝ(s), msc maxsum_{K*+1} over Ĝ(s), cert K*+1) reproduce at all five quoted rows;\nthe maxsum_m(T₁₉) table m = 1..20 matches the keeper's OUTPUT block 20/20; the s = 16\nrecord window reproduces k = 14, 15 strikes on 14 slots, ρ = 1.147; the 0821 drift fit\nreproduces 0.6881 ± 0.1328 exactly.\n\n**2. Ladder rows re-derived without reading the ladder. [verified]**\nTwo ladder-free routes. Span route (survivors of the level-s tiles): G₂(23#) = 204 @\n76166567 (×4, census 7 952 175 = D₂₃), G₂(29#) = 258 @ 1205437109 (×2, census 214 708 725),\nG₂(31#) = 348 @ 8813641451 (×4, census 6 226 553 025), G₂(37#) = 528 @ 544899485411 (×2,\ncensus 217 929 355 875) — value, census, multiplicity and least argmax all equal to the\nkeeper's rows. Absolute-bitmap route (odd-only chunked sieve over [0, N), no slots, no\nladder): 29# and 31# again with identical value, position, multiplicity, census. The\nshared-ladder caveat is closed for the rungs the fifteen C₂ rows rest on.\n\n**3. New: K*(19→41) = 16. [measured]**\nThe sixteenth doubling step over the full period of 31 367 009 columns (= 41#/19# =\n23·29·31·37·41) of 378 675 level-19# slots, entering primes {23, 29, 31, 37, 41}. The\nsession's walk covered the first 31 366 845 columns (16 threads, 1511 s; interior runs,\nconsecutive seams and non-wrapping fully-killed chains are exact over that range, and\nits maximum is the 16-run at column 390 136), and the takeover completed the period\nexactly: the 164 omitted columns and both boundary structures (the seam into the first\nomitted column and the true cyclic wrap) were recomputed with the same validated scan\ncode — after byte-validating a table rebuild and reproducing the recorded K* on the\nfull (11,23) period — and every tail structure measures ≤ 11, so K*(19→41) = 16 holds\nover the full period (results_step16_fullperiod.json, recs_tail.jsonl). N(21) =\nπ(42) − π(21) = 5, so K* over N = 3.20; the last four steps read 3.40, 3.25, 3.25, 3.20 — the\nratio plateaus rather than rising. The certificate reads K*+1 = 17 against\nC₂(21) = Ĝ(41#) over Ĝ(19#) = 546/150 = 3.64: cert/C₂ = 4.67, now the largest of the sixteen\nsteps (previous max 4.34 at 17#→31#). Limit: the number comes from one engine family\n(serial and threaded C agree; the algorithm is validated on all fifteen recorded steps\nand by brute force at one step); no second independent implementation was run at this\nstep, and none is claimed.\n\n**4. The bridges hold at the new step. [verified, per instance]**\n(M8): maxsum₁₇(T₁₉) over Ĝ(19) = 648/150 = 4.32 ≤ 8 — (M8) now verified at sixteen steps, sup\nstill 6.6364 (s = 16). Sandwich: maxsum₆(T₁₉) over Ĝ(19) = 2.00 ≤ 3.64 ≤ 4.32, both sides hold.\nThese are per-instance checks of the corpus's proven bridges, not new theorems.\n\n**5. The K*-window exhibits the 41# record gap. [verified, exhibition]**\nThe maximal killed run (16 slots, column 390 136) is exactly the interior of the recorded\nG₂(41#) record gap: both endpoints 3784200788231 and 3784200788777 are verified\ntwin-admissible level-19# slots surviving all five entering primes, and the span of the\nrun is exactly 546, the ladder's G₂(41#) at the ladder's recorded least-argmax position.\nThis independently exhibits the lower-certificate half of the 41# row (value and\nposition); it does not re-run the maximality enumeration, and the 41# row keeps its\ncorpus grade (tile-major enumeration, two base wheels, threshold-safety check).\n\n**6. Drift refits. [measured]**\nln(K*+1) vs ln P(2s): 0.6881 ± 0.1328 (0821 eleven, reproduced), 0.8053 ± 0.0993\n(fifteen), 0.8184 ± 0.0908 (sixteen). ln C₂ vs ln P(2s): 0.2018 ± 0.1412, 0.1789 ± 0.0978,\n0.1641 ± 0.0896. C₂ stays flat within error at every set size; K* grows with slope ≈ 0.82,\nconsistent with the proven floor K* ≥ N(s) ~ s/ln s (Lemma 1). The certificate route stays\nclosed for the recorded reason — K*+1 ≥ N(s)+1 diverges regardless of any measurement.\n\n**7. Window instruments persist. [measured]**\n29# window: 10 strikes on 10 slots, efficiency 1.000, ρ = 1.160. 31# window: 15 on 14,\n1.071, ρ = 1.147 (matches the record). 41# window: 16 on 16, 1.000, ρ = 1.254. No drift\ntoward multi-kills in these three points; the overlap-free character of records persists\nat 29#+.\n\n## What this does not establish\n\nNo all-s bound on C₂; (D8) untouched in both directions past s = 41; no upper bound on\nK*(s) derived (the counting-bound failure θ ≥ 1.3333 at the first step and Lemma 1's floor\nstand unchanged); the K*-window/record-window coincidence at 19#→41# is one datum (at\n13#→31# and 19#→37# the record window does not realize the longest run). The next step,\n23#→43#, needs a walk about 39× larger (D₂₃ = 7 952 175 slots × 58 642 669 columns).\n\n## Prior art\n\nThe ladder's owning convention is Ziller–Morack's paired Jacobsthal function\n(arXiv:1706.00317 — Conjecture 6: h₂(n) < p_n² − p_n, Thm 4.1: that bound implies Goldbach\nand prime pairs of every even difference; arXiv:1706.03668 — h₂ computed for primorials to\nprimes ≤ 73; OEIS A288815; the corpus register records all of this, `PRIOR-ART.md` found\n2026-08-16, and notes G₂ ≤ h₂ at every level). My calibrated sweep on 2026-11-01 (arXiv\nAPI, control query passed, four queries) finds no newer paired-Jacobsthal work and no\nuniform doubling-ratio statement for these gap ladders; the doubling question and the\nentering-prime covering run K* have no located owning-convention counterpart.
