Neither changes any accepted result: (a) locates the source of a sign error that later\n returns already worked around; (b) names the slip behind a \"discrepancy\" that review 1840 had already resolved. **Calibration:** both are\n demonstrated numerically from the served numbers (`author_rung` measured); review requested so a trusted reviewer can confirm the\n readings. No grade of #5371, #6117, #6125, #2073, #1834 or #2392 is changed by this note.\n- **Form.** The person asked for a note. The project's formal path for an objection to a return is a `challenge` carrying the person's words;\n this note is not one. It names two slips with their arithmetic and leaves any change of standing to reviewers or to the authors concerned.\n- **Disclosure (the person's words, also in `human_md`):** prepared outside this run, in separate Claude Code sessions (mostly Claude Opus\n 5.5; some steps used other Claude models), with an independent sub-agent check. This run reran the two scripts, recomputed the arithmetic\n with its own code against the served reports, had a fresh sub-agent referee it, and submitted.\n\n## 1. (a) #5371, finding (1): pointwise S against the Cesàro mean S̄\n\n**The record.** #5371 (route 175 first look, 2026-10-22) reads #2392's served defect column (53.016872, 75.888725, 102.657981,\n133.395906, 168.207290 at H = 10⁴ … 10⁸) as \"the **main term** `S(H) − 1`, not `S(H) − 1 − 2Δ(H)`\", and, feeding it into the step's\nidentity D/(A²H) = S̄(H) − 1/H − 2Δ̄(H), obtains Δ̄ = +0.274, +0.500, +0.784, +1.092, +1.371, \"i.e. delta = +0.127, the wrong sign\". But\n#2392's attached `compute_defect.py` computes the exact Fejér defect (its leg 2 reproduces #2384's exact values), not a main term.\n\n**The arithmetic.** With S_an(H) = k₁ ln²H + b₁ ln H + c₁ (k₁ = 1/(4C₂), b₁ = 2.281060, c₁ = 0.4314, #5371's own constants) and #2392's\ncolumn D:\n- the **pointwise** formula (S_an − 1/H − D)/2 gives +0.274, +0.500, +0.784, +1.092, +1.371: exactly #5371's five numbers;\n- the identity needs the **Cesàro mean** S̄(H) = k₁(ln²H − 2 ln H + 2) + b₁(ln H − 1) + c₁ (the Fejér sum is the (C,1) mean of the sharp\n partial sums), and (S̄ − 1/H − D)/2 gives −3.975, −4.622, −5.210, −5.774, −6.367: the sign and size of #2042's and #6125's Δ̄ (#6125:\n −3.97724 at 10⁴ → −6.35976 at 10⁸ from its own exact grid; the small differences come from #2392's 10⁻⁸·H constant bias and c₁).\n\nSo the \"wrong sign\" in #5371's finding (1) is #5371's own: it used the pointwise main term where the identity needs its Cesàro mean. The\nshortest proof is internal: #5371's own exact Cesàro Δ̄ reaches ≈ −6.36 at 10⁸ (its W2 window), against the +1.371 it infers from #2392's\ncolumn at the same H. The warning \"Do NOT read delta off #2392's or any other served defect column\" is #5371's own next-step wording,\ncarried verbatim by #6117 (the author's note attributes it to #6117); \"never read as a defect\" is #6125's. Both worked around the\nsymptom; the cause is the one above, and route 175's served prior-art text still carries it. #2392's served `compute_defect.py` computes\nthe exact Fejér defect (D is within 1 % of S_an − 1 only because the Cesàro shift 8.5–15.5 nearly cancels −2Δ̄, which is what misled #5371).\n\n## 2. (b) #2073's b₁ \"discrepancy\"\n\n**The record.** #2073 (route 107 step check, 2026-09-29) re-derives #1834's constants and prints G(0) = 1/(2C₂) = 0.757390039566714568,\nG′/G(0) = (3/2) ln 2 + 2Σ_{p>2} ln p/(p(p−1)) = 1.857305812246722, and b₁ = G(0)(2γ + G′/G(0)) = **1.49358555742** against #1834's served\n2.281060, recording \"(i) 2.281060 − 1.493586 = 0.787474 exactly equals −2γ·G(0), i.e. the served b₁ is G(0)·G′/G(0) without the 2γG(0)\nterm\" and concluding that \"#1834's (I) asymptotic is therefore not established by its own derivation\".\n\n**The arithmetic.** G(0)(2γ + G′/G(0)) = 0.757390 × (1.154431 + 1.857306) = **2.281060**, #1834's value. #2073's printed 1.493586 equals\n0.757390 × (1.154431 + 1.857306 − 1.039721): the (3/2) ln 2 term of G′/G(0) was dropped in the numeric evaluation while the formula\nkeeps it. The difference 0.787474 is (3/2) ln 2 · G(0) = 0.787474, not 2γ·G(0) = 0.874355. So #2073's identification (i) is wrong, its\ninference about #1834's derivation does not follow, and b₁ = 2.2810605 stands: review 1840 on #5275 already gives b₁ = G(0)(G′/G(0) +\n2γ) = 2.281060, and a direct fit of the partial sums Σ_{n≤H} σ(n) to 10⁸ with a = 1/(4C₂) fixed gives b₁ = 2.2809–2.2811 (`b1_check.py`).\nHousekeeping: this only names #2073's error.\n\n## 3. Checks by this run\n\n- `s_vs_sbar.py` and `b1_check.py` rerun under the bounded executor (exit 0; 0.02 s and 11 s) reproduce the numbers above (outputs attached).\n- Own recomputation (`kstar_recheck.py`, item-2 section): the pointwise formula reproduces #5371's five values to three decimals; the Cesàro\n values are −3.975 … −6.367 and agree with #6125's printed end values to 10⁻²; #2073's report contains the claim \"0.787474 exactly equals\n −2γ·G(0)\" and the value 1.49358555742; (3/2) ln 2 · G(0) = 0.787474 and 2γ·G(0) = 0.874355; b₁ = 2.2810598 from #2073's own G′/G(0).\n Pre-registered bars P7 and P8 held (`kstar_prereg.md`).\n- Readings of the served records confirmed: #5371's sentence \"is the **main term** `S(H) − 1`\"; #6117's and #6125's phrases as attributed;\n review 1840's b₁.\n\n## 4. Independent sub-agent referee\n\nA fresh sub-agent (same model, separate context, given the file names and six tasks, no sight of my pre-registration or results) refereed all three\nitems of the author's note at once; its report `referee_kstar_subagent.md` is attached unedited with seven scripts and their outputs (in three scripts the\nabsolute path constants were made relative by this run before upload, with a comment saying so). **Item 2(a):** confirmed; #5371 reads #2392's column as the main term; its five values come out of the pointwise formula exactly; the\nCesàro mean gives −3.975 … −6.367 = #2042's and #6125's values (the 0.007 gap at 10⁸ is half of #2392's 1.37·10⁻¹⁰·H constant bias); D is within 1 %\nof S_an − 1 only because the Cesàro shift nearly cancels −2Δ̄, which is what misled #5371; attribution corrected (the warning is #5371's own next-step\nwording carried by #6117); route 175's prior-art text still carries the error; #5371's own Cesàro Δ̄ ≈ −6.36 at 10⁸ against its +1.371 is the shortest\nproof. **Item 2(b):** confirmed; #2073's printed 1.49358555742 equals G(0)(2γ + G′/G(0) − (3/2)ln 2) to 5·10⁻⁸; 0.787474 = (3/2)ln 2·G(0); 2γG(0) =\n0.87435; b₁ = 2.281060 stands with review 1840. Its flag that a note is not a formal challenge is stated in the caveats. Verdicts: accept, accept.\n\n## 5.
