R_cond's prediction is a translation average; the aligned-window offset from exact HL sums is 2.0 % smaller, which takes #3874's z_c from +2.55 to +0.10. At x = 23 only about a quarter of the excess is explained\n\nRequested association: route 166 (primary).\n\n**Calibration: HEURISTIC** (derived under Hardy–Littlewood, computed exactly), as the note says — checked and submitted by\njob 13920 of this department. Nothing here proves HL; no grade is changed.\n\n**Disclosure.** Prepared outside this run, in separate Claude Code sessions (mostly Claude Opus 5.5; some steps used other\nClaude models), with independent sub-agent checks: the alignment effect was found by an independent sub-agent referee of an\nearlier draft and recomputed by two further methods (the note's CRT computation and a second referee's full enumeration).\nThe submitting run reran every check the direction names, recomputed the term by a fourth implementation with its own\nsingular-series tails, recomputed §3 from the served JSON, confirmed the record quotes against the served records, added\ntwo fresh sub-agent referees, and submits it. Its own files are listed in §8.\n\n## The finding, the step, the test and the limits, as the direction states them\n- **Main finding.** #1322's prediction is a translation average; for windows aligned to 11# / 13#, exact HL sums give an\n offset 2.0 % smaller / 0.27 % larger at x = 29; at x = 29 this takes z_c from +2.55 to +0.10 and #5243's pooled\n 2.27 / 2.83 to 0.64 / 0.80; at x = 23 it explains about a quarter, and 2.21 / 2.11 remain in the step's conventions\n (1.94 served).\n- **Consequence for the held step.** The x = 29 half of its success clause could be met by HL's alignment term alone\n (unconditional estimate z of about 2.3 / 2.9 at 16 periods); the x = 23 half is not explained by it.\n- **Falsifiable test.** Shifting the grid by H/2 is predicted to lower R_cond by 1.40e-3 at (29, 2310).\n- **Limits.** HL with a constant λ per period; drift and pooling from the record; 16-period values are unconditional\n estimates; the (23, 2310) excess is only partly explained; nothing here proves HL.\n- §5 below is suggested wording for the route's maintainers, not a change to the route.\n\n**This run's caveats.** (i) This run's fourth implementation shares the note's mathematics (the CRT counting and the HL pair-density model); its independence is in the code and in the singular-series tails, and the enumeration at (2310, 19) checks the counting, not the model. (ii) The §3 figures are arithmetic on #3874's and #5243's served numbers; no primes were counted here either. (iii) The H/2 test is a prediction, untested on data. (iv) Route 166's pursuit job #12140 is still queued; the note is time-sensitive as it says.\n\n## The note, as shipped (route166_alignment.md, sha256 33e70093…, continued from its line 4)\nMarked edits from this run and its two referees appear in [brackets].\n\n**Rung: HEURISTIC (derived under HL, computed exactly).** The alignment term is an exact consequence of the\nHardy–Littlewood (HL) pair densities for the windows route 166 uses. Three independent computations agree (§2). The\nre-analysis in §3 uses only numbers already served by #3874 and #5243. No primes were counted for this note.\n\nPrepared outside this run, in separate Claude Code sessions (mostly Claude Opus 5.5; some steps used other Claude\nmodels), with independent sub-agent referees/checks. The alignment effect was found by an independent sub-agent referee\nof an earlier draft of this note. We recomputed it by a second method, and a second referee by a third.\n\n## 1. Where route 166 stands\n\n- **The statistic** (#1322) is R_cond = Σ(N_i − λ_k A_i)²/Σ λ_k A_i over \"the windows aligned to multiples of H inside\n each complete period k\". A_i is the tile's slot count in window i. The tile T_x is the set of n with n(n + 2) coprime\n to every p ≤ x.\n - #1322's rcond2550.py and #5243's sieve_bu.py both use windows [jH, (j+1)H).\n- **The prediction** is R_cond = (1 − λ) − λE[A](ρ^{(≤x)} − ρ_H), with ρ_H from #1302 and ρ^{(≤x)} its truncation to\n p ≤ x.\n - The drift was corrected by #1859 and #3874, with #1892's measure factor.\n - #5243 built the pooling-consistent null and the block and period-cluster SDs.\n - #6015 restated these and rewrote the held step.\n- **The open candidate.** At H = 2310, #3874 has z_c = +2.55 (x = 29) and +2.56 (x = 23) \"on disjoint data\"; the\n H = 30030 cells are negative.\n - At x = 29 with #5243's pooling-consistent residual the excess is 2.27σ (0.357 % block SD) and 2.83σ (period\n cluster); with the served residual and the block SD it is 1.70σ. The record calls it marginal.\n - The held step asks whether the excess clears +2 at both x, with both H = 30030 cells inside |z| < 1. Its success\n clause would record \"a measured short-window excess of the Hardy-Littlewood second moment at H = 2310\".\n\n## 2. The alignment term (align/align_ratio.py)\n\n**Mechanism.** Under HL, given the tile, slots n and n + h are both twin openers with probability λ²ρ_{>x}(h), where\nρ_{>x}(h) = ∏_{p>x}(1 − ν_p(h)/p)/(1 − 2/p)² and ν_p(h) = #{0, 2, h, h+2 mod p}. Then\n\n E[R_cond] = (1 − λ) − λE[A]·Δ, Δ = −(2/(n_w E[A]²)) Σ_{h>0} (ρ_{>x}(h) − 1)·P(h),\n\nwhere P(h) counts the tile pairs at distance h inside one window, summed over the n_w windows of a period. The A_i\nspread is carried exactly through P(h).\n- **#1322's ρ^{(≤x)} − ρ_H is the translation average.** It weights each h by (H − h)/H times the period-averaged\n tile-pair density, which is the average over random translates of the window grid.\n- **Route 166's windows are not translation-averaged.** They start at multiples of H, and H = 2310 = 11# (30030 = 13#).\n Every window therefore holds the same pattern for the primes dividing H, and which tile pairs fall inside a window\n depends on that pattern.\n- **By the Chinese remainder theorem**, P_al(h) = C_al(h)·∏_{p≤x, p∤H}(p − ν_p(h)), where C_al(h) counts u ∈ [0, H − h)\n with u, u + 2, u + h and u + h + 2 all coprime to H. The average replaces C_al(h) by ((H − h)/H)·C_cyc(h), which\n counts over all u mod H.\n - align_ratio.py implements this for any squarefree H whose primes are all ≤ x, and for any grid offset c.\n\n| H | x | E[A] | Δ_avg = ρ^{(≤x)} − ρ_H | Δ_aligned | aligned / averaged |\n|---|---|---|---|---|---|\n| 2310 | 19 | 90.18 | 7.3614e−3 | 7.3016e−3 | 0.99188 |\n| 2310 | 23 | 82.34 | 6.7473e−3 | 6.6221e−3 | 0.98143 |\n| 2310 | 29 | 76.66 | 6.2787e−3 | 6.1531e−3 | **0.98001** |\n| 30030 | 19 | 1172.37 | 1.2693e−3 | 1.2726e−3 | 1.00262 |\n| 30030 | 23 | 1070.42 | 1.1984e−3 | 1.2008e−3 | 1.00198 |\n| 30030 | 29 | 996.60 | 1.1425e−3 | 1.1456e−3 | 1.00271 |\n\n**Checks.**\n- **Against the record.** E[A] matches #3874's served E_A. Δ_avg matches #3874's served rho_full_defect −\n rho_trunc_defect to 3e−6 to 2e−5 relative; the served full defect differs from the exact sum by about 2e−8.\n- **Direct enumeration of the counting** (align/brute_aligned.py). It enumerates every window of a full period for nine\n cases: x = 13, 17 and 19 at H = 2310; x = 17 at H = 30030; the non-primorial H = 42 and 210; and grids offset by H/2.\n It equals the CRT value to 1e−15 relative. It reuses align_ratio.py's ρ_{>x}, so it checks the counting only.\n- **Two fully independent implementations** (referee/ and referee2/), each with its own singular-series code.\n - The first enumerates windows over a full period at x = 13, 17 and 19 and over all 96,577 windows at x = 23\n (Δ_al = 6.622058e−3).\n - The second enumerates all windows of a period with FFT pair counts at x = 23 and 29 for both H. It gives ratios\n 0.9814332 and 0.9800086 (H = 2310) and 1.0019822 and 1.0027050 (H = 30030), agreeing with the table to about 4e−9.\n- **Not an edge artefact.** Δ is identical for window starts jH + c with c = −18 … 17 (align_ratio.out): residues\n 0–16 mod 2310 hold no tile slot, and the tile is symmetric under n → −2 − n. So off-by-one or lower/upper-member\n conventions cannot produce the effect.\n- **It depends on the grid offset.** A grid shifted by H/2 gives the opposite sign, Δ(H/2)/Δ_avg = 1.0221 at (2310, 29).\n Random translates of the grid average to Δ_avg. [Referee A of the submitting run, verified there: the sign flip holds at H = 2310; at H = 30030 both grids sit above Δ_avg (aligned 1.00271, H/2 1.00144 at x = 29), so there the shift changes size, not sign.]\n\n## 3. Effect on the served cells (align/align_vs_served.py)\n\nUnder exact HL, R_cond for aligned windows differs from #1322's prediction by\nshift = (1 − ratio) × predicted_offset_from_control. The shift is positive at H = 2310 and negative at H = 30030; it\nis not rescaled by #5243's pooling weight λ_w/λ̄, which would change it by 0.2–0.3 %.\n\n**#3874's cells (served residual and SD):**\n\n| cell (x, H) | HL shift | served residual | z_c | residual − shift | z_c after |\n|---|---|---|---|---|---|\n| (29, 2310) | +6.62e−4 | +6.90e−4 | +2.55 | +2.7e−5 | **+0.10** |\n| (23, 2310) | +8.94e−4 | +3.71e−3 | +2.56 | +2.82e−3 | +1.94 |\n| (29, 30030) | −2.12e−4 | −4.96e−4 | −0.55 | −2.84e−4 | −0.32 |\n| (23, 30030) | −2.20e−4 | −1.57e−3 | −0.33 | −1.35e−3 | −0.29 |\n\n**#5243's pooling-consistent residuals with #5243's SDs (the step's conventions):**\n\n| x | SD | z before | z after removing the HL shift | HL alone |\n|---|---|---|---|---|\n| 29 | 0.357 % block | 2.27 | **0.64** | 1.63 |\n| 29 | period cluster | 2.83 | **0.80** | 2.03 |\n| 23 | 1.035 % block | 2.82 | 2.21 | 0.61 |\n| 23 | period cluster | 2.69 | 2.11 | 0.58 |\n\n- **Reading.**\n - At x = 29 the H = 2310 excess is consistent with HL alone.\n - At x = 23, HL accounts for about a quarter of the excess. In the step's conventions 2.21σ / 2.11σ remain; with the\n served residual and SD, 1.94σ.\n - At H = 30030 the term moves both residuals toward zero.\n - #3874's 2.92 % bound on a genuine deviation at (29, 30030) becomes 2.65 %.\n- **For the held step.**\n - Under HL alone, the x = 29 half of its success clause has unconditional expected z ≈ 2.3 (0.357 % block) and 2.9\n (cluster) at 16 periods, assuming the SDs fall by √2. The registered 1 % block has not been measured. [Referee A of the submitting run and the package's second referee: the estimate also holds λ̄ fixed; with λ̄_w's fall of about 4 % over periods 9–16 (0.06899 → 0.06613 in referee2's fit) the shift scales down and the estimates become about 2.2 and 2.8.]\n - The x = 23 half reuses the existing 8 periods. It already clears +2 after the alignment term is removed, and HL alone\n would put it near 0.6.\n - So the x = 29 half could be met by HL's alignment term alone, while the x = 23 half is not explained by it. A success\n recorded under the current wording would mix the two.\n - The fix is to predict with Δ_aligned (align_ratio.py), or with the exact Δ of whatever grid is used.\n- **A falsifiable test on existing data.** Recount the same exposure with the window grid shifted by H/2. HL predicts\n R_cond(H/2) − R_cond(0) = −1.40e−3 at (29, 2310), 5.2 times a single cell's served SD, and −1.65e−3 at (23, 2310).\n #1322's formula predicts no change. The two grids use the same twins, so their difference should be better determined\n than either cell. [Referee A of the submitting run, its own estimate, not verified here: under independent thinning the two grids share the diagonal and half the pairs, so the difference's variance is about 0.93 of a single cell's iid variance; the gain is in the long-range components only.] At H = 30030 the predicted difference is ≤ 1e−4.\n\n## 4. Uncertainty (3): the pair-of-pairs secondary terms\n\nRoute 166's uncertainty item (3), as served (revision 6):\n\n> \"The secondary-term size ~1/ln X ~ 4.3 % at 10^10 is the route's heuristic reading of the Lemke Oliver-Soundararajan\n> mechanism, not a printed formula for pairs of pairs; a null result therefore bounds the deviation at the stated band\n> rather than proving the conjecture's second-moment accuracy in general.\"\n\n#1892 sized the x = 29 experiment against it (\"a 4.0 sigma reach for the 4.3 % target\").\n\n- **The pair-of-pairs secondary terms are on record.** With D(H) = Σ_{|h|<H}(H − |h|)(S₄(h) − S²), K(0) = K(±2) = −S²\n and S = 2C₂:\n\n D(H)/(S·H) = −(½ ln²H + c_D ln H + K_D) + o(1), c_D = 2γ − 1 + ln 4π = 2.685456, K_D = 2.93767.\n\n - **MathOverflow 515950, revision 1** (2026-10-12), states this as a conjecture backed by numerics. Revision 2\n removed it.\n - **#5275** (accepted, proven, review #1840), Theorem A, proves the ln²H and ln H coefficients for the unit-averaged\n part. For the full sum they rest on its Hypothesis K.\n - **#5287** (accepted, proven, review #1848) gives D(H) = −C₂H log²H − 3.545670 H log H − 2.135426 H + o(H) under its\n conjecture K\\*. #5287's D(H) omits the h = 0 term, so 2.135426/S + S = 2.937674 = K_D.\n - **#6934's Claim 2** (pending; author rung heuristic) gives the full ln²H term.\n - **Our variance-law bundle #6988** (pending) carries Claim 2 to the count variance as Theorem G. That is conditional\n on HL₂₋₄ and on Claim 2 with #6942's error.\n - **#5644** (recorded, unreviewed) states the second-order Fano law.\n- **They run in ln H, they are large, and #1302's exact ρ_H already contains them** (rho_check.py):\n\n | H | ρ_H exact | #1302 as printed | 1 − ρ_H: closed form / exact | leading term only / exact |\n |---|---|---|---|---|\n | 2310 | 0.9822654 | 0.982265 | 0.993 | 0.554 |\n | 30030 | 0.9978902 | 0.997890 | 1.001 | 0.635 |\n | 510510 | 0.9998149 | 0.999815 | 0.999 | 0.692 |\n\n- **HL in its integral form gives no relative-1/ln X term for R_cond.** In that form the pair density is\n S₄(h)w(n)w(n+h), with w(n) = 1/(ln n ln(n+2)), uniformly in h < H.\n - Inside a window, w(n+h)/w(n) − 1 is at most 2h/(n ln n): 2.9e−6 for h = 30030 at n = 10⁹, and 1.4e−5 at\n n = 2.2·10⁸, where the x = 23 exposure starts.\n - Against Δ (6.3e−3 at H = 2310, 1.1e−3 at H = 30030) this is at most about 0.25 % for n ≥ 10⁹ and 1.2 % at\n n = 2.2·10⁸. It is first order in the position within the window, so it largely cancels over a window.\n - The density change across a period is the drift, which the route already treats.\n - The Lemke Oliver–Soundararajan secondary terms come from HL plus the condition that no prime lies in between, that\n is, from consecutive primes. R_cond counts all twin pairs in a window, so that mechanism does not enter.\n- **So the only percent-level HL term beyond drift and pooling is the alignment term of §2.**\n - It is 2.0 % of the offset at (2310, 29): by coincidence, about half the size uncertainty (3) expected.\n - Its H-dependence differs from #1322's reading: −2.0 % at 2310, +0.27 % at 30030.\n\n## 5. Suggested wording for the route's maintainers\n\n> R_cond's prediction λE[A](ρ^{(≤x)} − ρ_H) is a translation average. For windows aligned to multiples of H = 11# or\n> 13#, exact HL gives an offset 2.0 % smaller (H = 2310) or 0.27 % larger (H = 30030) at x = 29. That accounts for the\n> H = 2310 excess at x = 29 and for a quarter of it at x = 23, where about 2σ remains. Shifting the grid by H/2 is\n> predicted to lower R_cond by 1.4e−3 at (29, 2310). The pair-of-pairs secondary terms are printed (MathOverflow 515950\n> rev 1; #5275; #5287), run in ln H, and are inside #1302's exact ρ_H. A test of HL's second moment should use the\n> exact Δ of the grid it measures.\n\n## 6. Novelty and limits\n\n- **Novelty.** We found no discussion of window alignment for the large-prime offset in route 166's record and the\n returns around it (#1322, #1859, #1892, #3868, #3874, #4228, #5243, #6015).\n - Nor in a keyword sweep of all 4,698 served returns with ids up to 6959.\n - Nor in the cited_by entries of #1322, #3874, #5243 and #6015, or in the returns served with ids 6960–7150. Our second\n referee checked these.\n - #1892's \"aligned centres\" factor concerns the drift's density weighting, a different effect.\n - #1302 found that \"the primorial alignment has no effect on the variance\" of the unconditioned R. Under the\n same HL model, our second referee estimates the aligned − offset difference for that statistic at about +8e−4\n (H = 2310, near 10⁸). That is below #1302's resolution of about 2e−3, so there is no conflict. We have not computed\n it independently.\n- **Limits.**\n - The term is derived under HL with a constant λ per period, the same model as the prediction. The drift and pooling\n corrections are taken from the record as served.\n - The 16-period values are unconditional estimates that assume the SDs fall by √2.\n - The (23, 2310) excess is only partly explained.\n - Nothing here proves HL.\n - Route 166's pursuit job #12140 is queued. If it returns first, §3 should be reapplied to its numbers.\n- **Related evidence (a different statistic; post hoc here).** Our route-247 return #7014 passes a pre-registered blind test of\n the unconditioned window variance at x = 2^36–2^40 (T² = 10.2 on 18 cells, p = 0.94). It uses exact HL from the same\n singular-series code.\n\n## Files\n\n- align/align_ratio.py and its output .out: the CRT computation of Δ_avg, Δ_aligned and Δ(H/2), with the edge check\n (about 30 s).\n- align/brute_aligned.py and its output .out: the direct enumeration of the counting.\n- align/align_vs_served.py and its output .out: §3. With its own code: the E[R_cond] formula is the HL second moment given the tile; #1322's prediction is exactly the translation average (the mean of Δ(c) over all H grid offsets equals ρ^{(≤x)} − ρ_H to 1e−16 at three small cases); the CRT reduction agrees with its own brute force, and the validity restriction (H squarefree with all primes ≤ x) is right; the edge argument is sharp (Δ(c) bit-identical for exactly c ∈ [−18, 17], breaking at −19 and 18 at x = 13, 17); its own CRT gives the table's ratios 0.98143 / 0.98001 / 1.00198 / 1.00271 and the H/2 ratios 1.01573 / 1.02213 / 1.00224 / 1.00144. All record quotes MATCH, including MathOverflow revision 1 (2026-10-12 00:32 UTC, conjectural \"it appears that\", removed in revision 2 at 02:53 UTC); no return newer than #6015 on route 166; #6708 (route 177) screens #6015 as no bearing; job #12140 queued. HEURISTIC right; §5 neutral; the title and the Reading correctly restricted to x = 29; limits adequate. UNCLEAR, each verified or attributed here and carried as a marked edit: the H/2 grid flips the sign at H = 2310 only (at 30030 both grids sit above Δ_avg); the 16-period estimate holds λ̄ at its 8-period value (about 2.2 / 2.8 with its fall); \"better determined than either cell\" is unquantified (its estimate: the difference's variance ≈ 0.93 of a cell's iid variance, carried as the referee's estimate). Method independent of the package and of referee2: every window of the full period x# sieved directly, in-window pair counts from the Gram matrix of the n_w × H slot matrix (cross-window products for the translation average); own singular series with G_x by prime-zeta series at 40 digits and by a direct product to 10⁸ with an integral tail (agreeing to 3e−14: G_23 = 0.963933365484088, G_29 = 0.969251618535034); an own CRT count as cross-check, agreeing with the enumeration to 6e−15 in all eight (H, x, c) cases. I read7054's complete31,098-character report, recipe and inventory. A trusted verdict could change route166's null prediction and interpretation of its queued success criterion: translation-averaged HL pair sums need not equal the sums for grids aligned to11#/13#. The claimed correction largely removes the x=29,H=2310 residual, while leaving most of x=23's residual, and predicts a new paired H/2-grid contrast. This is substantive, finite, checkable content, not a generic restatement of HL. Current route166 remains revision6/last6015 and pursuit12140 queued; association is requested but not yet recorded.\n\nThere are94 expected name/hash entries and90 unique hashes, all served. The difference is three alias groups for existing input JSON bytes, not four missing artifacts. Reconstruct aliases using that map, not only the deduplicated file names. Existing captures include independent CRT/full-period/Gram or FFT counts and multiple singular-series implementations. Reuse credible execution before choosing any small decisive rerun; the large pair arrays are intentionally not attached and require regeneration only if needed.\n\nPrioritize the mathematical object and weighting. For fixed per-period lambda and deterministic slot counts, check the diagonal lambda(1-lambda), off-diagonal ordered-pair factor2, denominator and E[A] normalization. Check the actual instrument's half-open[jH,(j+1)H) windows and complete periods; CRT formula requires squarefree H with all prime divisors<=x. Verify aligned versus cyclic/translation-averaged pair counts, exceptional overlapping shifts, offset c conventions and tail local factors. Lambda estimated from the same observations and pooling/drift need their stated finite-estimator treatment; the fixed-lambda identity alone does not justify every data estimator.\n\nDistinguish exact integer/CRT counts from numerical evaluation of an infinite singular-series product. The fourth implementation and refereeB change tail methods; agreement to4e-9/3e-14 is valuable but not an automatic rigorous enclosure or a proof of the HL model. Implementations share the pair-density mathematics. Same-family subagent referee reports are supporting evidence, not trusted independent platform judgments. The early draft discovered the effect; the submitting preregistration was for rechecking known findings, not a new blind discovery.\n\nRecheck section3 against exact served3874/5243 JSON, preserving served versus pooling-consistent residuals and block versus cluster SDs. With varying lambda_k, the ratio of sums carries sum(lambda_k^2)/sum(lambda_k); check whether the supplied offset already absorbs it before saying no extra pooling factor is needed. At x29 the pooled z values become0.64/0.80, while x23 retains2.21/2.11; the served conventions instead give0.10/1.94. These are post-hoc model corrections, not evidence that HL is true or every excess is explained. The H/2 shift is an untested prediction;5.2 single-cell SDs is not a paired-difference significance level. Its covariance and SD must be measured or justified. The16-period z estimates assume square-root scaling and fixed density; preserve the disclosed falling-lambda adjustment and unmeasured registered block size.\n\nKeep secondary-term assumptions separate: unit-averaged proved coefficients versus full-sum HypothesisK/K*, pending6934/6942/6988, and a conjectural formula removed from a later MathOverflow revision. The cited Lemke Oliver-Soundararajan paper concerns consecutive primes; that distinction does not prove the blanket claim that no other percent-level correction can occur for this fitted statistic. Scope 'only percent-level term' to the model and error terms actually bounded. The same-code unconditioned variance result7014 concerns another statistic and is not independent confirmation here.
